Its technically a third person shooter, but I started Red Faction Guerrilla yesterday. I am probably playing it wrong since I put it on easy and am only using c4, the hammer, and cars, and just playing it like Grand Theft Auto. There is little more satisfying after a bad day at work than destroying an entire building with a hammer

I loved this game - easily one of my favorites this gen and perhaps my favorite sandbox game ever. The missions are usually fun, and the story is interesting - you should give it a go when you get bored of just destroying stuff (though that may not happen).fastbilly1 wrote:Its technically a third person shooter, but I started Red Faction Guerrilla yesterday. I did give it a chance and just could not get into the story. I am still technically following the story, just leaving death in my path. The cargo trucks are my favorite so far. Driving one into a EDF patrol and pushing him into his friends was well worth the risk.dsheinem wrote:I loved this game - easily one of my favorites this gen and perhaps my favorite sandbox game ever. Also not a FPS but Resistance Retribution on the PSP kicks ass. I really need to pick up 2 now though. I never picked it up despite being a huge fan of the original one. The 3rd one looks to be shaping up to be one of the coolest looking shooters ever. Hell, the cover art alone is almost cool enough to justify the purchase:

Notice the skull's teeth make up a scene of NYC. This is probably the best cover art I've seen for a game (let alone an FPS) in a long time.

Older. Not wiser.

Resistance 1 was awesome, Resistance 2 is probably my favorite all around FPS on the PS3 (it is neither the best single-player or multiplayer FPS, but it does have the best mix of each). Needless to say, I am stoked for R3. I thought Retribution was great as well.

Picked up Portal 2 for the PS 3 today, I had a rough start as I hit a bug early on that made me have to reload a checkpoint. Minor gripe though, the game seems pretty damn polished otherwise. I am just LOVING the writing in this game. Hilarious and creepy, just how I like it.

I'm playing through Hacx right now. Yes, Hacx, that old doom 2 mod everyone seems to hate. Man are some of these levels messed up. Really I'm enjoying it overall though. The Uzi's clip defies reality and I like that.

Man, I'm not really enjoying these tank levels in Call of Duty Classic (aka CoD1). They're very boring and tedious. I want to get back on my feet and shoot some German soldiers IN THE FACE!

I was playing some Battlefield Bad Company 2 earlier today, but I'm thinking about dipping back into Borderlands again. I played a few hours of it when I first got it, but it quickly lost my interest. I just don't see what all the hoopla was about. .
