NGPC saw a rerelease on xbla, so I would definitely pick that, beside all the other obvious reasons

I loved NeoGeo Battle Coliseum on the PS2 and it's a solid port on XBLA.
Out of all of the reasons people crap on it, though, I'm surprised balancing issues aren't one of them.. Some find the Samurai Shodown characters a bit cheap, (which I don't really, with the right counter-attacks.)

Is it still as brutally hard as I remember it being? I remember finding it strange that the console version was 10x harder than the arcade version.

OMG, so it's not just me??? DUDE, I am so fucking awesome at Darkstalkers games -- or so I thought! haha. I brutalized Darkstalkers 3. I kicked the shit out of Chaos Tower. I fucked up Capcom Vs SNK 1 and 2 using Morrigan primarily... but wow. Wow. The first Darkstalkers is handing me my ass. I can get about halfway through the roster before things just get out of hand. haha.
Re: What fighter are you currently playing?
Yeah, I had no problem with the arcade version (played the hell out of it as a kid), so when the PlayStation version came around I thought it'd be easy peasy.
Yeah, not so much. Good lord, that port was brutal. Haven't played it in a long time, but it felt like WeaponLord difficult to me back then.

yeah man -- it's fucking hard. And Darkstalkers is totally like my favorite fighting series now. So I'm determined to beat this one. But it's not gonna be the cake-walk that the others were.

SFII Super Turbo Revival(GBA): I'd rank it right beside the 3DS port of SFIV in terms of
playability, and that's not some hyperbolic repsonse to it surprising the hell outta me with its sheer fun factor, it's honestly a classy little remake.
Surprisingly tough though, take the Ken/Ryu time attack stage specifically, where you have to beat both of them in one round with one lifebar, and when you've done the near unimaginable, boom! Here comes Akuma to squat on that petulant sense of achievement and turd all over it.
