Yup, all new build sometime soon. Started looking into costs and components yesterday. Hopefully have something up and running by the 4th of July weekend or so, if not sooner.

Heat would be my guess. Fans are all spinning like they should right?

If it is going out within 5 seconds of being powered on it sounds like possibly windows is corrupted or you have power issues. Heat would take a minute or two at least to build up before causing serious problems. How far are you getting before it goes off? Is it starting to load up windows when it shutsdown?
Maybe try going into the Bios at startup and see if it runs stable while sitting in the menu. It might just be some corrupted windows files in which case you simply need to reinstall and possibly consider getting a new harddrive. Other then that the Power Supply might be going out and the power demands of the system as you boot up is just to much for it to handle.

It may sound odd, but try unplugging all of your USB devices.

A shot CPU fan (or heatsink knocked loose) could cause thermal protection to trip pretty quickly, and random crashes before could be due to poor performance from a dying fan.
But, yeah, going to the BIOS or running a bootable Linux CD or something to bypass the Windows stuff could indicate if it's really hardware or not.

BEAT:
- Urban Chaos (PS2: FPS)
- Locks Quest (DS: RTS)
- Super Mario World (SNES: Platformer)
- Fire Emblem Awakening (3DS: Strategy RPG)
-Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D (3DS: Third Person Shooter)
- Tom Clany's Ghost Recon: Shadow War (3DS: Grid Based Military Tactics/ SRPG)
OTHERS - Games I've spent substantial time with but haven't "beat" due to the nature of these:
- NFL Blitz 2000 (Dreamcast, Arcade Sports)
- NFL Blitz 2003 (PS2, Arcade Sports)
.... Shadow Wars is great fun. I'm calling it now this will be a 3DS hidden gem. I imagine most do not know it's a grid based tactics game & not a typical third person shooter. It'll sneak by most & be appreciated later.

An interesting experience since I wasn't the biggest fan when it was new. But I liked it this time around for the most part. The remixed music wasn't an earsore at all and nothing about it felt off, so that was nice. Graphically this port was really well done and one of the best HD ports I've seen.
One of the better endings in the series for sure.
I was pretty burned out after awhile though. I do think the plot kind of slumped a bit towards the end off and on, and when the game "opened up", it was more like... okay you can backtrack now. Which was just kind of tiresome. So I got all the summons and was done with it after that.
Lost Odyssey is very similar and since I beat that just two years ago it was fresh in mind and cool to make comparisons, with the creator and probably a lot of the same staff between the two. I might say I like LO more overall, when it opened up there was definitely more to do and more real side quests. Cooler world and natural improvements with voice acting/dialogue. They balance out for the most part and aren't exactly perfect JRPG's, but great stuff for sure.

Uncharted 3
Well, it is Uncharted. At this point play one and you played em all. Though I thought the controls seemed kind of flaky this time. At times I also noticed making jumps just before a cut scene where I should have landed on the ground and ended up hanging from a ledge. Once or twice I absolutely missed a jump and was put up on the surface to trigger the cut scene. The story and cut scenes were good, probably would make a decent movie. Though a couple characters dropped from the story and one came on and it was left without a lot of explanation. Oh well, worth one play through and maybe another in ten years!

1. GTA V(360)
2. Brothers(PSN)

5. Remember Me(PS3 PS+ Freebie)
6. Shadow of the Colossus(PS3 HD Collection)*

Blew through it during the free weekend and overall wasn't to impressed. Completed both MP campaigns with victories on just about every map and hit around lvl 31. Still have about 20 hours of free time left glad I didn't drop any money on the game.

2013 2012 2011 2010Two more summer challenge games!
Two great games with two tough final bosses. Onslaught it a well-known toughie, and though I got to the point where i could 1cc to him, I never managed to 1cc through him. In my opinion it is the toughest arcade mode in the series.
Wario Land is now the first VB game I have ever played all the way through (on original hardware), and I took more than twice as long to beat the game as HowLongToBeat suggests. Nonetheless, the game is a great entry in the Wario Land series and, in fact, might be my favorite of what I've played of the series so far (all of 1, VB, and 2, some of 3 and some of 4, most of Shake it). That final boss is a real pisser, though.
