Well, that's just not true. He could now - but Over the Edge '99 has never been released commercially to make any money off it.
I was told by a guy in college once that tapes of it are floating around from people that had cams at the event.

A bit of hyperbole, but still hes never going to be up for any humanitarian awards.

I'll give him some credit for handling that death relatively well, but I still think its clear from the evidence we have that the WWF was at fault for what happened. Add in not letting Owen out of his contract when he clearly wanted out and wasn't comfortable with what they were doing. Trotting him out as the blue blazer was just insult to injury.

I have a copy of the PPV on DVD - off of the live PPV feed (you don't see anything as it happened during a taped promo by Owen).

I've always heard that Vince is very family oriented regarding his employees (not talking wrestlers - they are contractors) and that he could hire more talented people to replace some folks but he is pretty loyal.

Perhaps so, but his "contractors" are the reason he makes any money. Now all the people behind the stage are extremely important and if he treats them well thats good, they deserve it.

Yeah, my friend saw the pay per view as well and the camera cuts out before it happens.

They should have stopped that show the moment that happened. going on with the rest of the event was insanity.

As for current news.

I haven't watched TNA in a while but tuned in last night. When did the shows name change to Impact Wrestling?

Wasn't it a dark match? All I ever saw from it was still shots and even that was hard to look at knowing what the poor guy must have been feeling at that moment. :(

I never understood why they went on w/ the show either. I think the fans would have been more than understanding about it or at least I would hope so.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

I wouldn't put it past WWE creative and upper management to exploit the man's personal problems... and honestly, from what I've seen and heard if anyone can suck it up for the business it's Cena. But still, I have no clue what's up with his personal life but as a human being I feel bad for the guy... the wrestling life is extremely hard on the wrestlers and families.
Ive always felt these kind of angles are just too unsavory. All the stuff they did after Eddie's death just turned my stomach and i can't believe the people involved took part in it. NO way in hell Eddie would have wanted that.

But then if you ever bet on Vince's humanity your going to lose. Hed sell snuff tapes of Owen's death if he could.
He has humanity, it's just buried under stupidity, poor taste, immaturity, and years of grudges. That's the man that he is

And I don't see things getting much better the day Triple H takes over. It's a good thing Shane got away from that crazy family

I remember thinking that when i watched HHH in that family movie The Chaparone.

That is the man that will direct the future of wrestling in the US.

Not a terrible movie by the way, not great, but compared to offerings from RVD and Goldberg its practically golden globe material.

Not a dark match, it was smack-dab in the middle of the card. Watching the rest of the show is challenging, the wrestlers are rightfully freaked out (there are blood stains in the one corner from it - Mick Foley talks about this in his one book) and it's just very eerie to re-live.

It's probably been almost a year now. TNA going "live" with shows over the summer was more interesting to me than WWE adding an hour to RAW (unless this means they are killing Smackdown).
