or maybe UGLY showing how much one spends
Since I updated my account at the Power Rewards site I have been getting postings from Gamestop about game deals. Strange that Gamestop has a separate Gamestop and a Power Reward site, the Gamestop site did not send me postings on deals. I knew about the Power Rewards points and it seemed like it would take forever for it to count for much. Well surprise, my latest EMail pointed out a ten dollar coupon offer good towards any purchase at Gamestop. I usually buy used games so I can get a $12.99 game minus the 10% discount minus ten dollar coupon for less then a dollar. I still have enough points to redeem for another coupon later, Gaaaah, I spent how much at Gamestop last year?!
It actually does take a while to build up enough points to get a return. Since I am buying games for myself and my son anyways, it only makes sense to have the card. Even the free card accumulates points for freebies later. The fifteen dollar Pro Card with discount on used stuff makes the annual membership pay for itself. A nice extra getting the monthly Game Informer magazine, even if the reviews are mixed. No, I will switch to the Digital version Gamestop is pushing, I like flipping the pages.
A double benefit of buying used, the discount and double point accumulation.

That's an easy one. Show your PowerUp Rewards card or give us your membership number when you make a purchase at a participating GameStop store, and you'll automatically score points for every $1 spent. This little chart breaks it down:
10 points per dollar spent on all new games and consoles
20 points per dollar spent on pre-owned games, accessories and consoles
20 points per dollar on traded-in games or consoles
Up to 500 points for activating online, completing your profile and establishing your Game Library
