I just watched two movies last night. The Croods, which was a decent family adventure romp that didn't rely heavily on cheap tricks and did some cool stuff visually. Nothing to write home about, but enjoyable none the less.

I also re-watched the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie from when I was a child. I haven't seen the film in roughly 20 years and watching it now blows my mind. That movie still stands the test of time and is so much better than the other two. It gives a lot of homages to the original comic and wasn't too over the top with the whacky kid antics like the second film was.

What blew my mind the most is an early appearance by one of my favorite actors... Sam Rockwell!

He plays lead thug who introduces the kids to the foot clan HQ. I saw it, was like, "Is that? ...... noooooo." The credits rolled and my shit was lost.

Did you know the "Asian Nerd" from REVENGE OF THE NERDS was the voice of Leonardo, and that Raphael was the only turtle to be played and voiced by the some actor?

There are all sorts of gems in that movie if you look for them.

I think I'll go see Thor 2: More Thorier. I just rewatched the original with the kiddo and it's aged well...probably the best canon Marvel origin movie other than Iron Man.

Until Thor wears boxing gloves, I ain't buying it.

PRETTY WOMAN

Maybe I need to buy some of that testosterone deodorant, as I enjoyed it. I remember watching it in seventh grade because I got to third base with Celeste Bowman, but never actually watched the movie. I also now know why women love it: Richard Gere is basically a handsome multi millionaire giving tree. Also, for a love story, there isn't much romance until the third act.

Great story telling, great performances, and although I couldn't relate to any of the characters, I still got attached to them. I'll take the flack that comes with saying this: It's a 4 Star movie.

I think that what was implied and was meant to be in Pretty Woman was far better than the movie itself. Her character was meant to be a drug addict and you see elements of that in the film. I wish they ran with some of those deleted scenes that further entrenched that idea... it would have made that connection much better. Who knows! Still great movie.

I have no idea what you're talking about concerning the drug addict thing. All the implications are that she doesn't use drugs, which is why the dental floss scene works so well.

Check it out. Some of the details of the process in filming it can be found here.

Interesting read indeed, but I didn't see anything implied that Vivian was a drug user, but the exact opposite.

And STEEL MAGNOLIAS was her career launcher, not PRETTY WOMAN.
