Perhaps "retro" toys should be the next big thing.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
How so? Some of them already are. 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, and Transformers have been hot items with toy collectors since their release, and they've only managed to go up in value as more folks enter the market. Same for The Real Ghostbusters and Masters of the Universe, as well as stuff like Marvel and DC toylines.Luke wrote:So awesome:

I wonder if there are any "Do you have enough time as an adult to play with all your retro toys" threads like we do, in their forumsAck wrote:How so? Definitely, many of them already are. Not just action figures, either. Statues, Hot Wheels, Micro Machines, Pez Dispensers, Barbies, Cabbage Patch Dolls, electronic games like Simon Says and Speak & Spell, and on and on. Toys have always been big collector's items.Ack wrote:How so? Re: Random Thoughts Thread
There are probably more retro toy collectors out there than retro video game collectors. The hobbies often crossover as well.
There's still a ton of Real Ghostbusters crap (Firehouse, Ecto-1, the works) in my parent's attic but I was always too lazy to figure out what I could get for it.
And I have no idea how I'd ship the Firehouse.

For some odd reason I really, really want heavy bristled doormats that state the day of the week.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I think action figures are one of the biggest scams out there. I really do not see how come they are so popular. I hardly remember playing with them, not sure what is so interesting about stuff like car models. Maybe I have not been around kids for a long time, but I rarely hear about kids enjoying dolls/mini statues .
Board games, Lego, playhouses, remote control cars, bikes, and even crayons thats where all the fun is. At least in my own opinion

Because staging an epic battle of forty GI Joe action figures without having them all fall down at some point is half the battle.RCBH928 wrote:I think action figures are one of the biggest scams out there. I really do not see how come they are so popular.
