welcome guys
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi guys,
I'm so excited to be a part of this community. I'm 18 and my name is Stephanie. Being a young (and active) woman into gaming (especially retro games) makes it hard for me to find anyone who enjoys them the same way I do. I started out watching my parents and my uncle playing Zelda and things on the NES and my first ever shot with a game was when I was around 3 or 4 with Donkey Kong Country. Platformers are still my favorite games but I also like things like CoD as well. I guess I like a bit of everything.
Once again I'm just so happy to have found this place. Happy gaming!

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Welcome to the forums! I started out watching my dad play Zelda on the NES, and eventually ended up going through the second quest with him. It's a memory I hold very dear and is truly my first real experience with gaming. I used to play Donkey Kong Country with my young and somewhat wild-spirited aunt and ended up also really getting into the Joe & Mac games on SNES that way as well. Might be worth checking out if you really enjoy SNES platformers.Corcyra wrote:Hi guys,

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hey guys, I've been lurking around for a while and have decided to join the forums. I want to say thanks to the mods that keep this community going. I didn't even know places like this existed on the internet a couple of months ago.
My name's Kelsey, I'm 29. I've been gaming and collecting games since we got our first game system as a kid, a Texas Instruments TI-99 4A. Those were good old days, playing "Hunt the Wumpus" and " TI Invaders". And then we got a NES. That's about when I became a video game fanatic. I've collected most game systems since then. I like games from every generation, even the 32-bit's awkward adolescent years. I like mostly platformers, action/adventure, and adventure games, but I've been known to enjoy the occasional RPG, fighting game and shooter.
I've been working in the game industry as an artist for about 8 years now. I love my job but I think I love collecting video games even more. I've recently gotten back into scouring for the games and systems I've always wanted. Recently I've been playing a lot of Genesis, SNES, 3DO and Playstation games, plus the usual 360, PS3 and Wii. I probably spend more time working on my collection and trying to sort out how to better organize and present it.
Anyway, I'm glad to have found this place. Thanks to everyone for keeping retro gaming alive.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hey there - I'm from the Bay Area and I'm new to the site but not to retro/collectible gaming. I've been collecting and selling rare and vintage games for years now, and I also work for a major video game studio in my 3rd year as a designer. Suffice to say I live and breathe video games!
I hope to share some expertise while also learning from what appears to be a knowledgeable group of collectors and enthusiasts.

Hey.
I'm a 26 year old guy from the sunny state of Tennessee. I enjoy playing the occasional video game (mostly RPGs... I lose patience and get bored with other genres too quickly) but I'm primarily a book nerd, as evidenced by my choice of username.
Anyway, pleased to meet all of you. I'll see you around the forum.
