Sound is going to be inferior on any CPS2 board due to the brilliance of Q-Sound. This has nothing to do with the port per se.
But the MSH SAT audio is of much worse audio quality than what is heard on MSH PSX. They both don't comapare to the arcade in this respect but Saturn versions sounds worse.
Hulk and Juggernaut slow down on the board as well, so that's what we call, arcade accurate.
No they don't. Not in the arcade version. There is absolutely no slowdown with large characters on screen. The games frame rate never is ever really compromised from large characters being on screen.
Multiple platforms, so obviously we'd include the DC version, which was the highest selling, not sure why you'd point out the others and disregard the best seller

There has been ZERO affect on the DC price. It was selling steady $20-30 4 years ago, 2 years ago, and yup, same today.
Of course the DC port was the highest selling of the 3! It had a more significant print run over PS2, XB versions! Read my posts!

["the PS2 and Xbox releases were well known to have a very limited print run due to the Capcom's loss of licensing and as a result garnered their high price and demand. These versions were more expensive than the superior DC port as a result"]

DC versions value has always remained steadily the same when compared to the crazy price hikes on the PS2 and XB version. There is more units of the game out there and less people who owned a DC at the time compared to the other 2.
While the other 2 version are inferior in quality compared to DC, Their value WAS based on its small print run and demand (more people had PS2s)

I'm not debating anything other than MVC2!
And like I said, It MAY be a possibility that MSH value will drop as a result of MVC origins. just like MVC2 on PS2 and XB when down to a more reasonable value when MVC2 came out as a download.
I take great care to say something is superior, because the reality is, people make decisions based on these discussions, and I think it is irresponsible for anyone to say MSH is bad port. It isn't.
Well sad! but my findings aren't based on discussions but on what I personally have experienced though actual play. It would def be irresponsible to say MSH is a bad port if it was wasn't. But it's also irresponsible to say the game (MSH on SAT) is excellent port of the arcade or even a better port over the PSX port. The game isn't an excellent port. If it were an excellent port it would a near accurate port of the arcade version... it isn't. it's barely on the same ground as the PSX version and that version isn't an excellent port either.
If you said the SAT port of Alpha 1 / 2 had noticeable issues, i'd agree.
I wouldn't say that especially regarding Alpha 2. Its a WAY more accurate port of the arcade when compared to MSH SAT and its respective arcade version. Furthermore Alpha 2 is a much more superior port over the PSX version of Alpha 2. This is not the case for MSH.
Sometimes the port is horrendous and can still sell well - example, Gekirindan on SAT is miserable compared to the F3 board. That game has slowdown.
I'm not questioning the sales of MSH based on its accuracy issues over the arcade.

Well, i'd like to say, lets just agree to disagree that Mike is right.

But now i'm tempted to shoot another video and post it on here. I just sold my MSH board and am supposed to ship tomorrow, but imma pm him to see if let me hold off on ship and do another vid next week when I have some time.

I'm a bit confused how we were talking about MSH Saturn (that prf gamer bought today), you mentioned that a future release may cause the SAT price to drop...I mentioned how this traditionally has not been the case with HUNDREDS of downloaded and re-released games...so now we are only going to discuss ONE example of your choosing (MvC2), and when that is refuted, we are only going to discuss that ONE example, but only on the consoles of your choosing (PS2/Xbox only, not DC). Convenient, as well as lame.

But you're not. MSH on SAT is not excellent port of the arcade... at least any more than the PSX version is. It's got flaws that even the PSX version doesn't have (lower quality audio, Music re-loops, slightly longer load times and a bit more slowdown and its occurrence during a match).

MSH vs SF on the SAT! Now That's a perfect example of an excellent arcade consversion. All frames of animation are intact, no loading, little to no slowdown (and if there is any, it doesn't affect gameplay).

There is no doubt in my mind that if capcom made it a requirement for MSH to utilize the RAM cart (the way Alpha 3, MSHvs.SF and others games do) as oppose to making it an optional feature, It would have been an amazingly accurate port! But the game was designed for the RAM cart as simple afterthought and that really hurt the conversion over to the console. The quality of the game is terribly inconsistent regardless of how the game is played (with or without the RAM cart). This is the reason i feel the game (SAT version) suffers with issues that plague it.

But now i'm tempted to shoot another video and post it on here. I just sold my MSH board and am supposed to ship tomorrow, but imma pm him to see if let me hold off on ship and do another vid next week when I have some time.
Goodtimes, go for it! I look forward to seeing it :D

Yes! I said it MAY be possible for the MSH to drop after Origins is released. Nothing is for certain. You may be correct it may not. So no need to defend your side of the argument.

And whats wrong with that ONE example!? It's the one example i used and it perfectly suites MSH considering they follow the same genre, the connection to the series (Capcoms Vs. Series), and most importantly the target audience and community both games are targeted to. You're right. It is rather convenient

I will gladdly take Marvel Super Heroes off anyone's hands that doesn't think it is a good port.

It's the same bullshit everytime. "Slowdown" "load times" "sound is off". I play both and if there are noticeable differences - they are noticeable. Not the case w/MSH...at all. Played them both literally a week ago and if the SAT port was anything but excellent, would've sold it and kept the board.
Well it seems there may be discrepancies with the term excellent. Considering you have or had the original PCB surprises me that you don't see the difference. None of the home versions are excellent ports when compared to the arcade original, NONE. But the Saturn versions shortcoming are just as bad or even worse than the PSX port depending if one uses the optional ram cart mode.
For the record, I also have access to both. I've played them one after the other and didn't notice any differences. I would call that an excellent port from a layman's (which is all I am) perspective. I played the PCB using a New Astro City and the Saturn one with the Virtual Stick modeled after the NAC cab. Of course I was using a different speaker set-up with both units.

Still, when playing them, I did not break it down frame-by-frame, analyse audio samples, test each character meticulously, etc. They looked and played the same to me. I'd call that excellent from a gamer's view. I'm sure CDAges might very well be right in the micro details, that the port is not arcade perfect (really, not many, if any, games actually are), but for the average retro gamer; who cares? It's so damn close that you HAVE to break everything down to small details to find differences.

Well not really but your argument would be shot full of holes beaten to a pulp spit on and more.
I hope I don't need to get a example from dreamcast talk....
Oh vector man you made such a mistake, good thing I was there to help diffuse the situation...

The hole have been poked, I wonder when CDAGES will completely destroy the theory...
Why are you even posting this rubbish? Unless you have something of substance to say, you're just flaming. Cut it out.

On topic, I picked up PS1 Resident Evil 2 and Wild Arms 2 for $5 each. Manuals and discs all in good shape, but cases cracked and have sicker residue.

Well...arcade perfect or not, the Saturn version of MSH is the best (and only) port that I have, and - since I used to play this game quite a bit in the arcade when I was younger - I am happy to add it to my collection for a good price. (My Saturn collection is up to 40+ games now, and MSH is the only Capcom fighter that I have yet added to my collection.) The place where I bought it - Goodwill Computer Works - usually employs videogamepricecharts.com to price their games, but they do not usually take condition into account. Accordingly, you get great deals there on complete games and - since you are not paying shipping - pretty good deals on carts. The price they had on MSH makes me think that they mis-priced it, however, especially since they had some less valuable games, like Duke Nukem 3D and Tempest 2000, behind the counter. (I might have to go back for Tempest 2000 later...)

VGPC has been counting JP sales as well (this is somewhat new) and my guess would be the lower value JP version may be bringing vgpc's price down.

Additionally, as you know, vgpc doesn't differentiate completeness / condition and if you look on ebay right now, there are more "disc only" copies of MSH, meaning they will sell in the $15-25 range and that will continue to skew the vgpc price on it.

Stores that use vgpc are a good thing for the retro consumer, if you understand how vgpc works, meaning you will almost always find disc games to be cheaper, and cart games to be more expensive. I always get a kick out of this - I mean, "you're running a store, wouldn't you do some research?". There is a somewhat local pawn shop I go to now and then - about 8 months ago they just randomly had Secret of Evermore, one loose, one CIB / Mint. Each priced at $19.99.

You know, the JP Saturn versions of most Capcom fighters (except Alpha 3) are ALL quite affordable. Heck, most are in the $15 or under range! Alpha 1, 2 and Darkstalker's Revenge are all just pocket change.
