I've been watching all the subbed eps of Sword Art Online. Love it! The dubs are on Adult Swim, I think tomorrow is episode five. But if you like or dont mind subbed they are all on Hulu. I really suggest it.
The show is about an online MMO gone wrong where all players are stuck in the game until someone clears the final dungeon. Even worse the stakes are real, die in the game and you die in real life.

I wanna TRY to watch it on adult swim. I'd rather watch dub than sub, and the dub is pretty great.

Are you watching the dub by chance? I've heard it's actually pretty good and fits the series better since it gives the characters voices and an accent that fit the setting and context more. I thought the series was pretty good and I think I'll actually watch the dub if I ever watch it again.garrett123 wrote:aura battle dunbine

I started the second arc but haven't dug into it yet. The story line so far bums me out.Fragems wrote:Having a Sword Art Online marathon. This is my second time watching it.

Sword Art Online is one of the worst popular animes I have ever had the misfortune of watching. Made it to about episode 16 before quitting. Initially it seems promising, but it never ends up delivering...
Speaking of marathons, watched episodes 1 - 22 of Space Battleship Yamato 2199 with a friend over the weekend. All in a row. 9 1/2 hours. Just waiting for the final 4 to be released.
Pretty enjoyable but very predictable series. Remake of the original 1974 series.
Some great theme songs. Great to see Aira Yuuki, KOKIA, and JAM Project doing themes for this series.

After finishing my second viewing of the Sword Art Online I decided to check out Accel World which shares the same writer. At first I didn't know if I would like it due to the overly chubby main character who spent the first half of the first episode hatinghimself to the extreme, but it seems to be picking up very nicely.

While AW and SAO are both mediocre series I enjoyed Accel World infinitely more. SAO is plain awful in my book. AW isn't great either, but I enjoyed the actual continuity, actual struggles of a main character that isn't Gary Stu, likable females (albeit typical anime), etc.
Plus the 2nd theme is some pretty sweet Eurobeat, haha. From the ex-rapper of m.o.v.e and a pretty decent singer.

Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendat
Lately I've been into an (obscure?) gambling anime called Kaiji. It's about an idle gambler who ends up in debt after cosigning a friend's loan. He tries to pay it off by entering absurd games designed by the Yakuza, which can cancel his debt to the bank but replace it with debt to organized crime.
The games are simple and designed especially for the show, which I love. It's easy to get into since I'm not into gambling. Regular poker or mahjong shows don't interest me, but I recommend Kaiji to anyone.
