I like it a lot honestly. But probably the reason for lack of high praise is it's also overshadowed by some ridiculously great 360 shmups (Deathsmiles, Mushihimasama Futari, DDP Resurrection, Espgaluda II, etc).temple wrote:Doesn't seem like AK gets the same kind of epic lOve like other cave games, but I think its pretty awsOme....

Darius Plus
I've owned this for several months, but would get owned every time I played it (couldn't pass the first level). I've come to realize that all I needed to do was turn on the controller's turbo functions and the game became somewhat playable. Is this "cheating"? The function is built right into the standard controller.

Giga Wing 2 arrived last night. Playing that a bit. The JP version is kind of funny. It streams voiceover samples from the disc for odd things like menu selections and attacks during the game play. I would leave it on, but the voice tracks are quite a bit louder than the BGM and SE.

Thunder Spirits. This game would have been way better if it were much more different than Thunder Force III. As it is now, I don't really see a reason to keep it over TFIII, except maybe the music (which, granted, was really awesome to just listen to after I game over'd)?
Re: What shmup are you playing now?
Cool. I might do a joint thread for both if there are a few more people interested...ExedExes wrote:I'd go for Strikers 1945 I & II.
