What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Iron Man THREE

Second viewing on tape. Obviously loses a bit of edge as I already know the twist but Kingsley is still funny and RDJ "spazzing" out is still oddly compelling. I really like the mid-air rescue scene, proper spectacle style cinema not all bullets flying and blurry close ups. Shame all of Tony's suits are made of paper-mache.

RUNNER RUNNER

I was obligated to see this, so save the "Why didn't you see GRAVITY?" comments. In short, great premise, terrible execution. That quick suspenseful pace of action isn't there which left me saying "get on with it" several times. The performances are fine, but they couldn't save the movie even if they were great.

Major spoilers that will save you $8.50 and around two hours:
Rich Ivy League student named Richie (ho ho) gets into hot water in more ways than one with his gambling website and his world is in peril. He's been swindled, and dog gone it, he's going to make things right. He talks with his Father, a famous gambler...well, I'd be wasting your time with the whole Father subplot so I'll move on.

Richie meets the swindler, named Ivan, and Ivan basically says "Yeah I cheated you. So what? But you got balls kid, and I need people with balls in my organization. Come work for me". Richie says "okie dokie" and they live the life of scenes from a Puff Daddy video. There's also Ivan's Girlfriend(?), we'll just call her "Up for Grabs".

Anyway, after some gallivanting Richie gets pinched by the feds and Ivan blows it off as usual business. Up for Grabs tells Richie that something foul is afoot, and finally the movie starts to roll along. Richie concludes Ivan might be a bad guy (ya think?) and decides to take him down. The rest is obvious.

Pacific Rim

Please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel, please let there be a sequel.

The characters are forgetable as hell, but damn those mechs. I just wish we could have seen more of the Russians and Chinese, and for there to be more pilot drama between them, not just with the Australian dude (who had the most Gundam looking mech, so he wins by default)

It's too bad The Asylum already took the most natural title for a sequel. No Atlantic Rim for us.

Antartic Rim? Indian Rim? With Bollywood dance sequences with the mechs. If they make an Aegean Rim they can have John Stamos and Zach Galifianakis as the pilots and the mech can break plates on the Kaiju's heads instead of using a sword.

It's already kinda like mecha-porn; they should just call the new one Pacific Rimjob.

 . According to the wikipedia entry for Pacific Rim, the (western made) Godzilla Reboot might cross over to the Pacific Rim franchise. Godzilla fighting giant mechs.....yeah I can see that working.

I prefer it with a green paint job and a flute based remote control.
