It's still hard to believe how good the SNES MMPR games are.

My girls and I beat our first game of the year in PokePark 2. My girls wanted to hunt down and befriend all of the Pokemon so it took longer then it should. They liked it a lot but to me it was just a mediocre fetch quest with a story.
I'll be starting my games from the summer challenge soon and figuring out what game my girls want to play next.

17- Pokemon Y (3DS)
18-Dead or Alive: Dimensions (3DS)
Finished history mode and unlocked like 40% of the stuff in this, most of it is just figurines no nothing really interesting. I always wanted to know the history of DoA (Dead or alive) and this game is retelling of every game until 4 and i must that the history is stupid, really stupid, i laughted on many parts for the ridicusly history and for the english voice acting. Taking aways that the fighting is DoA at is finest, the combos are displayed on the bottom screen and that is a blessing, you'll learn new combos so much faster, sadly they did the same disicion like capcom and make the combos and other moves available on the touchscreen... and that makes the game really easy but you can ignore that feature. The description of the combat in this game is like every other DoA is fast and easy to learn but it has more than mashing buttons with the blocks, holds, and counter attacks. If you hold the block button while pressin a direction on the Dpad while your enemy is in the middle of a combo you can perform a counter attack. The bosses are a bit OP as allways.
The game is good, and it is great for a portable since the fights start and end really fast.

1. Pikmin 3 (WiiU)
2. Kirby's Adventure (WiiU VC)
3. Rayman Legends (WiiU)
Mario Kart 8
I am one of the biggest Mario Kart fans out there, so this was a preorder for me. I've now beat all of the cups in 50cc, 100cc, 150cc and Mirror Mode. Also beat all the staff ghosts. I'll work on getting the last few unlocks over time. Haven't played much online yet.
Early impression (its been less than 2 weeks) is that this will be in my top three for Mario Kart Games, meaning this is practically guaranteed a spot in my top 20 ever. Must have if you are a Wii U owner. It is damn nice to look at, controls beautifully and the fun factor is very high. I've only had a little chance at multiplayer as I don't get a lot of guests, but that was fun too. Not using the gamepad for a 5-player option was a terrible slip for Nintendo, but probably won't effect me often as I rarely have that many people over for game playing.
Four games "beaten" this year and they are all on the Wii U (one VC). I should diversify! To be fair I've been playing a lot of the original Super Mario Kart still and Rocket Knight Adventures on the Genesis, but when it comes to beating games I seem to enjoy the Wii U the most right now. It just hits the spot when it comes to the amount of time I have to commit in order to see the credits, and rarely lets me down when it comes to fun factor.

2013 2012 2011 2010Bushido Blade for the Summer Challenge. I am convinced beating the game's story mode without continuing is at least 50% luck. I continued only against one dude, who brought a gun to a knife fight, but totherwise beat everyone else handily.
I'll be spending more time with the new Crimzon Clover, which is very nice, but I played to the credits in novice so up it goes.
NSMB2 is pretty awesome, though I can't imagine it would be easy to ever be faced with the prospect of running out of lives. Lots of coins are fun, but it kills some of the challenge to the main story.
I'd still like to get to right around 50 by the end of June as 100 for the year is a reasonable goal, I think. I'll be cutting it close, especially as I'm still slogging through a few longer games...

Taking a break from the Challenge - due to a somewhat weird/complicated moving situation I have started packing up my consoles. Gonna stick to handhelds and PC for the time being.

Far Cry 2 360
Playing through it again, it's clear just how similar Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3 are conceptually. However, I think Far Cry 2 is done better in just about every way. I think I might wright a review and analysis on it because there is no way to put my thoughts into a small post here on the games beaten thread.
If any of you haven't played FC2 and enjoy long open world games and rock hard shooters you ought to give it a try.

So, I have never really found myself interested in the whole digital novel/Ace Attorney style games but I decided to pick this one up on a whim and I really enjoyed it. The format is pretty great for a handheld. The English VO left a bit to be desired, and I wish there was more voice considering most character conversations are only punctuated with small bits of sound. The story was pretty well put together, other than the very disappointing ending. I'm looking forward to the sequel's release in September for certain.
Hopefully I can start knocking out more games here in the next few weeks as things get back to normal.
Yeah I've been eyeing this one myself for awhile. I'll probably tackle 999 first for this style of game, as I already have that one.

Total for 2014: 29
I have not posted here for like 2 months, so some games to quickly get through.
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1 - PC
Episode 1 just feels like more of the same, they took the Bioshock Infinite cast and put them in Rapture, I did not love it as it felt like they just did it because they could.
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2 - PC
Episode 2 however plays like its own game and it is a good one! It links the stories of Columbia and Rapture up nicely, while explaining some of the events of the first Bioshock game. Great addition to the series.
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita - Vita
In terms of a single player experience, I think this is the best LBP game. Not that much to say about it, if you have played one, you know how it plays.
The Last of Us - PS3
My friend let me borrow this a few months ago and I could not get into it. Outside of the opening chapter, I utterly hated the first few hours of this game. Stealth done really poorly, because your AI would just run through rooms, it just didn't click with me.
I cam back to it and finished it in like 2 sittings, which is something considering it is a lengthy game. Like the rest of the world, I loved this game, thought it was perfect from about the third hour onwards.
Peggle Nights - Peggle Nights
Woo! It's more Peggle!
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes - Vita
This one surprised me. I really enjoyed playing it. I thought the inclusion of voices would be too goofy, it was a bit goofy but the over arching story was not that bad and kept the game far more interesting than other lego games. I also think the lego formula is well suited for handhelds. Played the whole thing half an hour at a time before bed.
