Prfsnl, do you like First Person Shooters?prfsnl_gmr wrote:As I get closer to completing a collection, I typically look back through a list of all available games to see if there are any I should add to my "want" list. I am about to finish up my PS3 collection, but I am considering each of the following games:
Should I add any of them? Please talk me into or out of getting these games. Thanks!

I collect bad/ridiculous games, and that is why I am thinking of adding it to my collection. (I bought Ride to Hell Retribution last weekend!) That is also why Jimmie Johnson's Anything with an Engine and Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust appear on the list. (Box Office Bust might be too much, however...)TSTR wrote:i kinda wanna play that 50 Cent game; heard it was ridic
They're not my favorite genre, but I don't have anything against them. I do, however, prefer games with quality single-player campaigns, and I also prefer games with creative/interesting settings or premises.Ack wrote:Prfsnl, do you like First Person Shooters?

I would still love to read some thoughts on these! Has anyone played them? What do you think of them? (I love great games, good games, and terrible games, but I have no tolerance for mediocrity!)
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The reason I ask is because the first game from The Darkness series was 360 and PS3 only, based on The Darkness comic book. I thought the first game was ok, and I own the supposedly superior sequel but have yet to play it(The Darkness II is also available on PC). If nothing else, it was an interesting idea and a fun little romp:

I have both of those already. They are exactly the sort of FPS games I am looking for.

Ah, oh well, sorry I couldn't be more help. I can't say anything about the rest of your list, as I don't have experience with them.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
IMO, The Darkness is better than The Darkness II. I loved the first one and thought the second was good. The gameplay was so fun and I absolutely adored the atmosphere. The first one should appeal to prfsnl_gmr as it is made by the fellows that made the excellent The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Starbreeze Studios.

No worries. There are some pretty big flops on there.

I <heart> Starbreeze.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Question for you collectors*
Let's say you're collecting for a certain console and you have whatever, $100 to spend. Do you prefer (find it more fun or rewarding) to:
A) Buy like twenty $5 games?
B) Buy a couple of pricier $50 games?
C) Buy one of the big-hitter $100 games?
*Hint: There's no wrong answer, but I am interested in the various schools of thought on this.
