What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

FRIDAY THE 13th, parts 5, 6, and 7.

Ah, the days of PG-13 murder and boobs.

PG-13? They're all rated R.

All of em? Well crap. I thought 7 was PG-13 for some odd reason. I faintly remember being able to rent PG-13 movies as a kid, and one was a 13th movie with boobs.

You'll like this: This morning I asked my wife "when did you first fall asleep during the marathon?" and she answered "When the hot chick went skinny dipping".

Now that is vague.

haha.

Yeah all R. You *might* be thinking of the fact that 7 was severely cut to get an R. And there supposedly exists a crazy Unrated cut which to my knowledge has not been officially released.

If I recall, the only Unrated versions have been 1 (which isn't vastly diff from its R rated version - save some shots lasting a few seconds longer gore-wise), Jason Goes To Hell (which is incredible in its Unrated form thanks alone to the tent scene) and 2009 (which, I saw both versions of and didn't pick up on what the differences were).

We watched 2009 last night since it's the one we've seen the least (prob 3 or 4 times) and I still contend it's a much better movie than it gets credit for. I also still contend it "works" as a sequel (aka: Friday the 13th Part 12) seeing as how it starts with the killing of Jason's mom, then cuts to modern day, and references are made to the camp having been shut down over the years, and many killings taking place around it since.

Loved it.
Never been a fan of the series have you...
Actually got into the series after seeing the ST film from 2009.

I've seen the show enough to know that STID is less "Wrath of Khan" and more "Space Seed" with elements from "WoK".

I'm not going to see the movies until I finish watching TOS and then TAS, and I'm gonna watch all six, even the odd-numbered ones that everyone hates.

And the same goes for all TNG movies.

And for all the people who complain about the starbursts on the screen need to remember that this is a byproduct of the revamped aesthetic and style of the TOS-era technology. Back in the '60s, they based how technology looked, felt and acted in the show on the technology of the '60s as imagined in the future. Similarly, the '60s episodes of The Jetsons placed an emphasis on technology while the '80s episodes put more emphasis on computers. But back on topic. Aside from the fact that the '80s and '90s didn't happen yet (which explains how Khan Prime's backstory isn't backdropped by grunge music and Melrose Place), they were still fighting the Cold War (which is why in the episode "Mudd's Women", Chekov made a reference to Leningrad... in the PRESENT tense, indicating it'd still be called that in the distant future, which it isn't) and the women's lib movement hasn't happened yet, which also explains the lack of female starship captains (like Janeway from Voyage), female doctors (like Dr. Crusher from TNG), or male nurses, to name a few.

Also, who caught the reference to womanizing scoundrel Harry Mudd?

I could care less. Non stop lens flare is annoying.

Man, I haven't screened a film or been to the theater in what seems like a month.

edit* Watching GI JOE RISE OF THE COBRA for some reason. I forgot how laughably horrible this film is. Not sure what is the worst part, the terrible cgi, the paint by numbers music, snake-eyes lips, or the acting (if you can call it acting).

I haven't been to the movie theater in almost a year and a half. It was when I saw The Lorax. And to add insult to injury, I've never seen a movie in 3D before.

But they're doing a blood donation thing at Walt Disney World tomorrow, I think at Typhoon Lagoon starting at 1pm, and they're giving away free movie passes.

Like jokes, if you have to explain why something doesn't suck...it probably sucks.

Your favorite movie sucks!!

(also I'm "uh oh"ing at the phrase specifically, not the context in which its being used in...)
