Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
I love Yoshi, it's one of my favorite games on NES.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
All I'm seeing all over the internet still is how the Wii U is a flop. Personally I do not understand where this mindset is coming from. As of May the Wii U sold 3.5 million units worldwide. In their first six months on the market both the 360 and PS4 sold under 3 million units each. Is the Wii U considered a failure because it has not matched or exceeded Wii sales?
I think it will be interesting to see whether the Xbox One and PS4 move more units than either the Wii U or their predecessors. Neither one of them has a launch lineup that appeals to me but I suspect that they appeal to others.

They will price drop it right around Christmas and you will see them fly off the shelves because they will be cheaper and have a more established library than anyone else. 249 for a Wii U and they have around 50 games out with many already discounted, at least that will be what they say in November.Octopod wrote:All I'm seeing all over the internet still is how the Wii U is a flop. We shall see if they drop to $250. I definitely feel the premium will be dropped to $300. But the current 8GB white basic WiiU's will probably be discontinued. It's already been confirmed that premium white WiiU's are coming.
I guess that still means the discontinued model could drop to $250 while supplies last.

Hasn't Nintendo more or less said there isn't going to be a price cut?

They said something along those lines. But they will have to cut the price and maybe make some new hardware bundles to stay competitive this holiday season.Violent By Design wrote:Hasn't Nintendo more or less said there isn't going to be a price cut?

They also said no XL 3DS about 2 weeks before then announcing it.Opa Opa wrote:They said something along those lines. I don't see the Wii U surviving a poor holiday season...at least in terms of attractiveness for 3rd party publishers. I'm not sure, at this point, if a price cut would boost sales enough.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
The big problem is there's not enough Nintendo games available yet. This fall that will change, so if they can combine that with a nice $300 bundle then I'm sure they'll do fine. It will still be overshadowed by the new console launches for sure though. As for what happens after the winter is anyone's guess.dsheinem wrote:They also said no XL 3DS about 2 weeks before then announcing it.Opa Opa wrote:They said something along those lines. What games are coming out? I know Pikmin 3 is August and the Zelda port is September/October-ish... Isn't every big title 2014 TBA? I definitely don't see Pikmin as a huge system mover; nor do I see WW HD doing too much (although it'll do better than Pikmin, that's a given)...CavZee wrote:The big problem is there's not enough Nintendo games available yet.
