Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
If we're going to pretend that the Genesis and SNES are women, I'd have to say Genesis would be more attractive at first, but when she hits middle age she pigs out and gets lumpy (SCD + 32X). Whereas SNES goes on an unnecessary diet in an attempt to look younger than she should.

Although I prefer the SNES, this man speaks the truth when it comes to affordability.brunoafh wrote: Meanwhile, 16 bit master race remains as affordable and superior as ever.
Incidentally, I picked up a copy of a great Genesis RPG (Beyond Oasis) for $7.50 last night. When was the last time you could find any SNES RPG for that price?
The clerk at my local gaming store claims that he's sold more Genesis games in the last month than he has in the past five years. Maybe people are getting sick of the SNES gouging.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The fact that i can pick up comix zone complete for $30 a game that is very praised and released late in the lifespan with a low print run really shows how affordable the genesis really is. If that game was on the snes i bet a complete copy would run you $150 to $200. Very few genesis break the $50 complete and most are imports. I had to pay $150 for pulseman, there are countless cart only snes games that easily break the $50 mark and thats just silly.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I've found that the majority of Genesis games are dirt cheap. Not sure why exactly, but I'm not complaining.

One thing that's surprising to me is how the Ps1 market has pretty much just sat there. Save for a handful of exceptions, prices right now are about the same as they were 5 years ago.

They were starting to creep up, but PSN re-releases undercut the used market. Remember when people would pay $75 for FFVII?AppleQueso wrote:One thing that's surprising to me is how the Ps1 market has pretty much just sat there. And Earthbound is on the VC for $10. But you still need to take out a second mortgage to get a physical cart, for reasons that pass all understanding.BoringSupreez wrote:They were starting to creep up, but PSN re-releases undercut the used market. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I wonder which game has the most product placement.
TMNT The Arcade game had a lot, but not as much as Yo! Noid. And Yo! Noid, doesn't seem to have as much product placement as Cool Spot. And the Tony Hawk series had more sponsors than Cool Spot.
Intriguing.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
That's why Earthbound is so expensive. There's no English release except for the original SNES cart. If it were on VC it would still be $70 today.AppleQueso wrote:uh...
