I misremembered. Was trying to recall what Norm said in the X-Eye Gaming Historian video. Maybe it was that the 32X didn't work there.noiseredux wrote:retrosportsgamer wrote: Also Noise, i'm farely certain the 32x does not work with the CDX (but maybe i'm misremembering)

I was just joking around about it. I do have that many TVs, but I'm only using one CRT and one HDTV. The other CRTs are spares, aside from the one CRT/VCR combo that I keep next to my work bench.Exhuminator wrote:I'd rather have a nice TV with a high quality switchbox and input scaler, than just a gaggle of TVs to accommodate the same thing. I guess I'm a bit of a utilitarian.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I have another LCD and another LED that I keep in storage and pull out for parties, but the main reason I keep 3 TVs is because I want my HDTV for my new stuff and a CRT for the older stuff, but the nice CRT I have doesn't support lightguns (but it does have two component inputs and three S-video inputs), so I use my old on-its-death-bed CRT for my lightgun consoles.
I also just like the cool look of a shit ton of TVs. It's part of how I stroke my e-penis.

I use the most basic inputs possible.
Lotsa RF.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
For a short while, I was considering getting an EDTV (480P 16:9 LCD) solely for the Wii.
Before my cable company went digital only and I could get basic channels without a box, I had two CRTs set up in the man cave. It was pretty nice being able to have the hockey game on while I do a little retro gaming during commercials and in between periods.

God, I HATE RF. I have my TurboGrafx-16, my Atari 2600, and my Famicom modded to output composite. I used to have my Atari 5200 modded to output composite until some fuckboy scammer here (don't remember his username, but he's since been banned) smashed the system all to hell and broke it (he swears it was an accident).BoneSnapDeez wrote:I use the most basic inputs possible.

All but the Famicom were courtesy of the almighty ApolloBoy.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Actually, if you don't have much interference, RF can look just fine. Not optimal, but certainly not the most awful. But it is the one that is most susceptible to picking up noise and interference, so if you're in a bad environment, it's gonna look awful.
Also, I haven't RGB-modded my NES yet. Clearly a filthy casual.
(In all truth, there's not a whole lot of difference between S-Video and Component at 480i/240p. Both are huge steps up from composite, though some systems handle it better than others. The NES/SNES composite looks pretty decent, the Genesis... not so much. Actually, that system probably has the worst composite output I've seen on a system. Which is why I got that converter!)

Didn't y'all use RF as kids in the 80s/90s? No one had issues with it then, right?
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I used to daisy chain all of them together so I could have a bunch of consoles hooked up to one TV.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I know who you're referring to.ElkinFencer10 wrote:I used to have my Atari 5200 modded to output composite until some fuckboy scammer here (don't remember his username, but he's since been banned) smashed the system all to hell and broke it (he swears it was an accident).
