that is why you HAVE to come early. Out Best Buy was very disorganized. There was no line and it was a clusterbleep. If you get there about a half hour early, you will be front of the line, signed up to play something. Yes it is short, roughly a level in MarioLand, or a track in MarioKart. Those times are short, yes, but getting that experience, to have the WiiU in your hands is a very shocking and jarring experience, showing just how much fun the system can be. Having the pad also makes it easier for those that don't like the waggle controls involved with the wii remotes.

No waggling on the pad for MarioLand!
I should have mentioned, he was there an half an hour early. He said you got to play one game if you were lucky. Granted he was at the only one in Atlanta.

I am curious to if Mario Land will support the Pro Controller aswell.

Apparently Nintendo dropped a bit of information that I have not seen mentioned anywhere yet. But March 2014, they are releasing their first Free to Play title and it will not be a standard franchise.

I would think so, but I honestly don't know. the controls for the Pad could easily be mimicked by the pro controller. The screen on the pad is the same as the TV screen so it isn't offering any extra functions. If they don't support it I would be a bit disappointed.

I think they will. They're patching in pro controller support for NSMBU and NSLU at the very least.

They are? GOOD! One plus to Nintendo is they using the ability to patch a game to IMPROVE a NON-BROKEN game instead of trying to fix issues in games released lazily.

Let's just hope that the pro controller doesn't turn Luigi into a writhing three dimensional, screaming mush somehow.....cause I know that can be prone to happen.

Nice. If I remember from Comic Con last year in Super Mario Bros, the Wiimote was sideways "NES" control style for all the players which actually worked pretty well except was it shake for attack. The Pro Controller should get rid of that dreaded shake attack or maybe not since it has built in sensors?

I thought it was silly the "main" player holding the LCD Pad was more like a side observer just drawing in platforms. Make the Pad holder a one up in controlling a character as well.

If you are using the wii remote....get ready to shake though. Shake is ground pound and aerial claw slash.
Wait the game using Wii Remotrs for multiplayer? Or do you mean Wiimote+nunchuk? Dpad for 3D movement? Ewww....

Hope it supports the Pro Controller as well. Seeing as how it's getting patched into NSMBU that gives me some hope it will be implemented.

Will the Pro Controller work as a classic controller when playing Wii games on the Wii U?

Not yet. The modding community is working on it.

I picked up Epic Mickey 2 yesterday and played around for a bit, some fun times to be had!

Also Mario & Yoshi on the NES is now 30c in the eShop.
