There's another part of the game involving that same villain that is even more amazing than the morgue. Here it is if you don't mind spoilers. The moment at 1:51 is amazing. An iconic moment perfectly captured in video game form. I haven't even seen movies capture it so perfectlyRetrodude wrote:Words cannot express how thoroughly impressed I am with Batman: Arkham Asylum. I'm only about a quarter of the way through it (just finished the boss fight against Bane) and already it's made my list of "most awesome games ever". That whole sequence in the morgue was just mind-blowing. The writing is beyond excellent, so you want to keep playing just to see how the story unfolds and Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are the icing on the cake. Seriously, if you've never played this one, you need to run out and pick it up.
I love that game. The combat system is simply brilliant, and the combat challenge rooms are arcade gaming bliss.
I think it would be interesting to see a mix of styles. An open world game, but with certain contained areas being designed like Arkham Asylum's Metroid influenced areas. I liked the improvements they made to combat in Arkham City and new stealth abilities. The bosses were a HUGE improvement over Arkham Asylum. Plus, new playable characters. My only gripe was way, way, waaaaay too many Riddler trophies, and they might have gone overboard on challenge rooms too. Arkham City is just too giving.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Isn't it utterly fantastic in pretty much every way?
It's too bad City just wasn't nearly as focused I get they wanted the more open world. The problem is they did that at a cost to story telling and level design. Asylum had a much better environment and the story didn't have the same semi-rushed feeling to it. I mean, it's still a great game and if you love Asylum you'll still love City for sure. Just not quite as good or impactful as Asylum.
Also losing Mark Hamill as the joker for Origins makes me a sad panda.
The guy doing Joker in the trailer sounded very similar to Mark Hammil I thought
I love these Batman games. I have both PS3 and 360 version of Arkham Asylum and have 100% trophies and achievements for both. I have both console collector's editions of Arkham City. I also have Arkham City on PC (though I could never play it due to weird controller issues). I can't wait for Arkham Origins, and I think I'm even more excited for Blackgate since it will be something fresh and new
I remember when news first came out about Arkham Asylum. Everyone though, "Oh great, another shitty Batman game, and by some no name developer too". Then a couple videos and pictures and various things came out and there was that amazing moment when a lot of us went, "Holy shit! They might actually pull this off"
