What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

So is this one of those "said no one ever" jokes?
Not at all. He and Burning Doom had some weird superhero movie kinship that was bizarre but interesting. I would have loved to hear RD spew about how Ben was either the perfect or worst pick for the Batman.

Ben is the opposite of Damon; great in comedies, terrible in action movies (He wasn't an action star in his Oscar winning film). Time will tell, but I don't particularly like this casting.
Kinship? Please. He had conspiracy theories as to why people didn't like the movies he did.

In response to the Affleck news: Unbelievable. I just don't see him pulling off Batman. But at least it's not George Clooney, so I guess we'll see what we get.

You both like and have defended Green Lantern and Green Hornet. Both are really, really terrible.

Green Lantern I said was alright, not terrible. And I have never even seen Green Hornet, never said a word about that one. But regardless, even if I do like Green Lantern and everyone else doesn't. I didn't say something like the only reason you guys are saying you don't like is because you don't want to look bad, or something or another he'd concoct.

Fair enough for sure.

Last night, my wife and I made taco salads and watched:

License to Drive (1988) - While this film doesn't touch some of the classics of its era, it is still a fun "Dual-Coreys" powered 1980s teen comedy. I enjoyed it for what it is, and I wish that studios still made films like this (i.e., not self-aware, unironic, semi-coming-of-age, teen adventure comedies).

Maybe they do...Have I missed anything?

Sadly, nope. Now go watch ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING. It's also still amazing.

My guess is someone said "These books are terrible but made a ton of money. Quick! Find a screenwriter and a director who wants a 'break out' movie!". As long as it makes money, it's a go.
Harald Zwart is the director. His other contributions to cinema are Agent Cody Banks, Pink Panther 2, and the Karate Kid reboot. Bit of a jobber. You're dead on with the screenwriter though, this and the planned sequel are her first gigs.

Affleck as Batman, eh? Could work.

So wait, Affleck is going to play a man who uses Bats as his symbol, after playing a superhero who got around essentially using echolocation?
