Random Thoughts Thread
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Have any of you guys had bad experiences with AmiAmi shipping? I'm talking about stuff in large boxes, not just games. I just had a model kit come in that literally looked like someone placed it on its side and stomped the box. Completely smashed. Handlers could be to blame, but at the same time they didn't pack it with anything but some crumpled up paper.
Not really an issue with just a game/disk case, but for stuff in boxes I don't know about AmiAmi anymore (I've bought from there a lot, but only PS3 games). They are just so much cheaper than other sites with model kits and figures, I guess you get what you pay for though. Maybe just a rare bad experience?

I had never heard of that site until now. Sucks that your shiz got squashed.
Their games inventory is quite impressive...

I've purchased several figures from them and I've never had any issues. However, the figure boxes are essentially filled with the plastic clamshell holding the figure in place, so they're less likely to be mussed up by some rough handling.brunoafh wrote:Have any of you guys had bad experiences with AmiAmi shipping? Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Should I bother ordering anything on that site that's on "back-order"? Or will I just get the inevitable order cancellation?
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
What is cool about AmiAmi is that you aren't charged until the item is procured and ready to be shipped to you, so worst case scenario with ordering something that is back-ordered is that it never comes in. You'll get an e-mail and a payment request when/if it does. Payment/shipment won't happen unless you authorize it.
In other words, you are at no financial risk upon placing a back-order, or a pre-order for that matter. Also they usually respond to emails within 24 hours, so if you had a specific question on something you can rely on the customer service.
I've really got pretty much nothing but praise for the site, I just wish they packed my RG RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam kit with more than paper

I always wondered , if I had a business and I was going to ship something how would I make sure my customer would receive his item in the perfect condition. Not smashed, squashed , broken , or ripped , because I am not the one who is doing the shipping.

Pack well and insure everything you ship. Insurance isn't for the customer, it's for you.RCBH928 wrote:I always wondered , if I had a business and I was going to ship something how would I make sure my customer would receive his item in the perfect condition. Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.
