From what I've read in "The Illustrated History of Electronic Gaming," and what I saw on the G4 Icons episode of Apple; Steve Jobs basically marketed Wozniak's genius in the early days. To me, that seems like Jobs is nothing more than a good business man that got lucky that he was friends with a computer genius. And IMO, Wozniak should get more of the credit for jumpstarting Apple than Jobs does.
As for the later "i" Apple we know today, I really don't know much. I'm sure Jobs did have more to do with that. But that's not same company it once was, is it? I thought Microsoft bought them out some years back.
But if what Luke said is true, then at least Wozniak does get some credit.

Woz gets most of the credit. Jobs barks orders, sleeps with a beautiful gal, and pushes the business.BurningDoom wrote: But if what Luke said is true, then at least Wozniak does get some credit.
See the movie, or don't. The movie is marketed as "JOBS" because Kutcher, for some reason*, is more marketable than his co-star.
*hint: It's because he's a model, celebrity, and appeals to non-geeks and women.

This was a running joke in iSteve. Steve Wozniak was played by Jorge garcia from Lost.BurningDoom wrote:I haven't watched the film. But after seeing previews, does it bug anyone else that Steve Jobs got a film, and is pretty much getting the all the credit for creating Apple; when most of us know that it's really Wozniak that created the Apple I & II (which launched the company into the forefront)? Hell, Jobs got fired in the mid-80s because he was being a tyrannical dick, from what I understand.
I know the guy died, and they're trying to give him some respect after the fact. But give credit where credit is due.

Went and saw it today as well. Overall it was a very good movie. Sure it was cliche in parts but the pacing was good, the action was memorable, and Mark + Denzel made one of the best buddy cop match ups I have seen in quite a while. It was somewhat predictable but overall I would give it a 8/10.MrPopo wrote:I went and saw 2 Guns. Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlburg had a good back and forth, so the antagonistic buddy cop thing worked well. Plus, it had a Mexican Standoff in Mexico.
We actually we went to see The Millers since for whatever reason my dad has wanted to watch it all week. However thanks to a mix up online we actually didn't catch it

Does anyone know if the film Jobs features a reference to - or, ideally, a montage of - him programming Breakout? That would be awesome.

Seven Days in May
One of the finest political thrillers ever crafted. Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas and Fredric March turn in performances that are classical by definition.

Hi, I'm new.
Got roped into seeing Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
This is the worst movie I've seen all year, it might be one of the worst movies I've seen in the last five years, which is quite the feat seeing how I also sat through the last Twilight movie. At least that movie had the decency to have some brutal supernatural violence before it retreated back to its fan-friendly safe zone.
Mortal Instruments is just an awful hodge-podge of all the worst aspects of recent urban fantasy tween movies, slavered with the most bizarre twist on the will-they-won't-they I've ever seen.
There's an even more unpleasant love interest than Edward Cullen, special effects that would've looked bad on a early episode of Supernatural , Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the least intimidating villain in a hollywood movie since Quantum of Solace and characters whose only purpose is to deliver big greasy slabs of exposition.
Also, the heroes cast magic via magical self-harm.
Half the film seems stolen from better properties (Harry Potter, Buffy, Star Wars) and the other half is like an advert for hot topic. And why do these films have to be so long? It runs for 130 mins but maxes out of ideas to plunder at about 100, so the final half hour is just one long slog of fight sequences.
Avoid at all costs.

Isn't that exactly what the movie meant to achieve? I'm not defending the movie, but I thought it was meant to be a tongue in cheek tween fantasy film that obviously and heavily borrows tired cliches.Sload Soap wrote: Mortal Instruments is just an awful hodge-podge of all the worst aspects of recent urban fantasy tween movies, slavered with the most bizarre twist on the will-they-won't-they...
