I know what you mean, especially with HZD reviewing so well. But this is the life we chose.

I saw it like this. Horizon may be good, but this is a new zelda on a new system AND Nintendo has said in their letter to the press that there are huge surprises that should.not be spoiled for folks. When that game comes out, if you don't plan on playing it right away you should expect to go radio silent online. Horizon was pretty laid out on what to expect story and gameplay from the trailers.

Torment: Tides of Numenera also comes out the 28th. Nier Automata the week after, and Mass Effect Andromeda the 21st of March. There's just so much coming out in the next month or so.

I don't think either were shown in more detail than the other. Nor, to me, do either seem like the kind of game that would be ruined by spoilers, since both are going to involve many hours of doing the same shit over and over again. What matters is if those tasks remain fun.

forgot Torment was so soon.

BTW, I don't really know what Nioh or Nier Automata are, but I keep confusing the two titles as they were released so close together.

Oh man, if you watch the later trailers, the entire story gets spoiled for Horizon... every... single... detail.

Nioh is Team Ninja's new action RPG game that's kinda like a fusion of Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden that stars a highly fictionalized version of William Adams.

Nier: Automata is a sequel/spinoff of Nier, done this time as an action-RPG by Platinum Games.

Thematically very different, but there are probably a good number of common elements besides having a four-letter title starting with N.

However, for you specifically, Nioh is was published by Sony, and is a PS4 exclusive. Nier: Automata is published by Square-Enix, and is on PC as well. So that'd probably determine which (if any) you'd pay attention to

Could well be, I saw the first one they released and it seemed pretty mixed in terms of quality. However, that could be attempting to cut different scenes together, hard to say. What sold me on the game was the gameplay at E3 last year anyway.

I forgot Torment was coming out in a few days. I think I'm just going to have to save that one until I'm through with HZD and Zelda. I doubt I can finish it before Zelda hits and HZD seems like a better game to stop midway through for Zelda.

Rumors for both are 50ish hours

The Arstechnica review of Horizon mentioned a Sony claim of 30 hours for the primary story, but felt that would be a very focused playthrough and that most would take at least 40 hours. Kotaku's mentioned beating the game at 60 hours at 80% completion. Seems like it won't be a 15-20 hour romp, but also not as drawn out as MGSV or DA:I.

I think Zelda is under review embargo until March 2nd or something. Polygon did post a preview but it didn't give an estimate, but did mention that they were 20 hours in, and had done "two dozen" of the mini dungeons that there are supposedly 120 of...so... it does not sound like it'll be particularly short either, at least for high completion.

Well I suppose it is a good thing that Spring Break is coming up

I plan to rarely plug the Switch in to the TV, so Zelda will be more of a "bring it with me" kind of experience. That probably means I will finish it first.

I also really want to finish up my main run through DiRT Rally VR before this stuff shows up at my door, but that game is supposedly 25+ hours too.
