And what kind of ending do you get for completing said chore? An ending that is a story in text. A little disappointing as I remembered a great ending I must have dreamed when I was still a kid. Oh well. Anyway my score was astonishing. Something like eight or nine digits.

so you made it out of The Fantasy Zone, eh? Man, I love Space Harrier. I can't believe we never did that one for TR.

would be a great pick for next year

the 32X version is the best :)

Holy crap is that beautiful. I may have to pick up a 32x just for it. Love how they kept the original and distinct sound effects.

I'd definitely play it again next year for TR. You certainly have to have a little luck in order to beat it.

1. Pokemon Leaf Green
2. Super Mario Bros.

Oh man, look at me go. Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time!
Really wish I could find time to finish the games I start...

EDIT:
I would also like to add that a really suck at Super Mario Bros. I challenged myself to finish it in the Summer Gaming thread, so I figured I'd do my best. There was also a pretty sweet glitch at the end after I finished. I'll try to get the screenshot uploaded when I have time. I'll probably never play this game again...

We'll have to remember to nominate it.

The game was translated to various home computer systems and consoles. The game was runner-up in the category of Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards.[11] Among the home versions, the ports for the Sega 32X, the Sega Saturn and the Sharp X68000 (the latter being a Japan-only) are considered to be the most faithful to the original arcade version.
The game is also playable on the Dreamcast (within Shenmue, Shenmue II and Yu Suzuki Game Works Vol. 1) and Xbox (within Shenmue II). It is included in Sega Arcade Gallery for the Game Boy Advance and the enhanced Japanese Sega Ages vol.4 PS2 remake is included in the Eur/NA Sega Classics Collection (a compilation DVD including other games from the same era that were remade for modern audiences) for the PlayStation 2.
Space Harrier II for the Sega Mega Drive was released for Nintendo's Virtual Console on December 18, 2006 while the first Space Harrier for the Sega Master System was released in Europe on October 17, 2008 and in North America on November 3, 2008.[12] The arcade version was released on the Virtual Console in Japan on March 26, 2009, in the PAL regions on May 29, 2009 and in North America on June 15, 2009.[13]
The arcade version of Space Harrier is available as an unlockable game in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. While the port's emulation is accurate to the arcade original, there are off-pitch voices and music in the port's sound emulation.
A port of the game is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS via the Nintendo eShop, featuring stereoscopic 3D and widescreen graphics.[14]

^talk about widely accessible!

I know it's early (but it's like 60 degrees lately in MA regardless of being "Summer") but I still say Metal Gear Solid is a good idea for 2014 TR as well.

It is part of the Sega Arcade Gallery.

I also need to pick this up at some point - the collection looks awesome - but it is not easy to find in the wild.

I always really enjoyed the PS2 remake. The music is especially awesome.
