Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Just started Soulcalibur II HD Online! This game is beautiful in motion. One of the best animated games around looks great with the improved frame rate and sharper details.
I did pretty badly though. I haven't played the PS2 version in a few months, forgot what the release date was for this one. I tried playing with my PS3 arcade stick, but...
I think this game is really better suited to gamepads.

Sounds a lot like my want list, though mine's Consoles only, no computers.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I do have an "informal want list" too that exists only in my head, basically consisting of things like:
"any Atari game I don't already own"

etc......
Unrelated, but a coworker just brought in her PS3 that *MIGHT* be 3.55 or older... she said she hasn't even turned it on since she moved, which was about 2 years ago. If I can CFW this bad boy, I am going to be SO psyched. I cannot wait to get home, just over 3 hours until I leave.
She didn't have power cord or AV cables, but bless Sony's heart they're consistent with what they use so I have plenty of both (and an HDMI cable for that matter).
Fingers crossed for some good news. The CFW PS3 was going to be the hardest thing to replace from my breakin.
Edit: SUCCESS! It's on 3.15! Oh happy day
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

My collection is larger. I estimate that I have between 2500 and 3000 games, but I have not taken an inventory in quite a while.BoneSnapDeez wrote:The question is - what's bigger? Your want list or your actual collection?
I did this for a while, but I ended up picking up too many duplicates by accident...BoneSnapDeez wrote:I do have an "informal want list" too that exists only in my head, basically consisting of things like:

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I've got a bit of a mental want list. It's probably bigger than my collection right now but I try not to worry about it.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I bought some used games off ebay/amazon , and I must say the quality of used games has changed. I previously bought used games in '07 I believe and the discs were very slightly scratched (inevitable I guesss ) . The current ones I got seems like they have been tortured. One of the Wii games had some of the cover art stuck on the clear plastic on the inside . These were not cheap $1 , many were between $8->$15 range and they are 6 year old games the kind of stuff you find in bargain bins.
I am not too worried though because I already pirated/played these games and I only bought them kind of to make things "right"

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
The only part of my collection that I don't have "memorized" is the 2nd gen stuff. The problem is the fact that Atari 2600, Intellivision, and C64 carts all look virtually identical. Like, I know I have Zaxxon somewhere in my collection, but I couldn't tell you what system it's for without checking.prfsnl_gmr wrote: I did this for a while, but I ended up picking up too many duplicates by accident...Now, I keep a copy of my want list on my telephone.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
It's kind of the downside of Amazon in particular. I've gotten a few that were definitely a bit below what my standard for "Very Good" or whatever would be. Then again, I've had as many or more that exceeded expectations.RCBH928 wrote:I bought some used games off ebay/amazon , and I must say the quality of used games has changed. Haven't really had it happen with anything even moderately expensive though, so I don't usually care much.
