I bought this game when it released, but it got pushed to the side by other stuff I was playing. I went back and finished it today (Which reminds me, I need to beat 3D Dot Game Heroes). This game is absolutely amazing and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of platformers or puzzle games.
By the way, I'm still playing GTA IV and I think it's really fun.

While I felt Episode 1 did not add enough to the game in terms of new experience or even new environments and locations, I really enjoyed Episode 2 and felt it was on par with Half Life 2, the ending was a bit anti climatic, I had heard so much about the Strider Battle, but I did not have any trouble with it, after it was over and the last chapter started I was expecting some awesome final boss, but I guess the Striders took its place.
The ending was enjoyable enough.
Definitely agreed with you here. Episode 1 I can't really myself caring to replay, but I've already gone back through Episode 2 a few times and it's definitely on par with the original HL2 in someways.
Now enjoy the Duke Nukem Forever wait as we continue to wonder when Episode 3 or HL3 will ever come out...

I strongly think it will come out, Valve are not exactly in the same financial boat that 3D Realms were in.

Oh indeed, we've just been waiting for 4 years as Valve continues to pump out more Portal, Left 4 Dead, and other things instead. Kind of grating.

Haha, yeah but considering the amazing quality of what they are 'pumping out' I am sure we can forgive them, just this once.

You'll have to wait for Defense of the Ancients 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive to come out first.
I'm starting to fear that Episode 3 can only disappoint after a long enough wait though (somehow expectations keep growing over long periods of time).

Haha, the truth hurts.
Well, makes sense to me. At this point I seriously think it should just be Half-Life 3 or something, that or maybe Valve is working on Source 2. That'd be a pretty good excuse for the wait to me. Source really pushed boundaries back when it came out and they still keep tweaking it like nothing, but I definitely think Valve could top what we're seeing DICE do with Battlefield 3, or Crytek with the CryEngine or whatever.

Thoughts on the Game(s)
Let me start by saying two things.
One, this game is very similar to recent COD games not only in how the game looks, but how it plays and how it is pretty much just set pieces strung together.
Two, it is REALLY short, I finished it in two sittings, I have read online it says between 4-5 hours, it felt much more like 3.
It does play pretty well and it is enjoyable, despite the lazy and very unoriginal story, the only upside of the game is that its well worth the $5 it will cost you to rent and finish it, but not a whole lot more.
This also marks the 200th game I have recorded as finished, so a nice little milestone for me.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
