That is a rare game! Almost no one knows about it.

IMO, collecting for the Wii is almost as fun as collecting for older systems. There are just so many rare and unusual games for it.

I agree with you about Wii collecting. It's really fun, lots of crazy titles. It's kind of like sailing into uncharted waters. Everyone knows everything about the NES, SNES and N64, but the Wii hasn't been explored in the same way. The rares, odd ball games, hidden gems and variants have largely been unnoticed. I have some other rares I can mention here, some with low production numbers that I haven't been brought up. Some I'm still trying to find for myself.

Please share! Since I have a copy of Fishing Resort on the way, I consider my Wii collection complete, but I am curious regarding what's out there. (Also, if you are looking for a copy of F1 2009, let me know. I am considering letting go of my copy.)

Ooh...

Not sure if the game is "good", but it does look right up my alley. I've never even heard of Gunslingers before. Very intrigued!

Had never heard of this till I saw it on Amazon Warehouse earlier. Jambo! Safari Animal Rescue by Sega looks like a pretty interesting game with a little history behind it. Might be worth picking up for those that are into collecting for the Wii.

I agree 100%. It's my favorite system to collect for. There never has and probably never will be another system quite like it.

Below is a list and some pictures of what I would consider some of the harder to find or desirable Wii games. I have a list of about 80 Wii games that I’m trying to obtain. So far I’ve tracked down almost 40 of them. A few post back I mentioned the nine Maximum Family racing games, so I won’t include those here. All the other ones not mentioned I’m still looking for, so I’ll try to do a Part II later on once I’m able to track them down.

Rare or desirable:

American Mensa Academy – Current copies on ebay: 0. Educational type game, super low productions numbers. This is a top tier pain in the ass to find.

Aqua Panic – Current copies on ebay: 3. I heard this one was pretty fun. Also hard to come by and is rising in price.

Castle of Shikigami III – Current copies on ebay: 7. A Shmup on Wii, say what? Here it is and it’s somewhat hard to come by. This could jump in value like Ikaruga for Gamecube.

Classic British Motor Racing – Current copies on ebay: 7. Somewhat rare, but still cheap racing game.

Crazy Machines – Current copies on ebay: 3. You wouldn’t know by the low price, but this can be a hard one to find.

Disney Violetta – Current copies on ebay: 1. This one is odd, I don’t think it ever received a proper release. It seems like one distributor has these on amazon. Once they are gone they might be fairly hard to come by.

El Chavo – Current copies on ebay: 5. Like Disney Violetta, this is a Mexican released game (still NTSC). Probably a very hard one to find out in the wild.

Family Game Night Fun Pack – Current copies on ebay: 14. Although not super rare, it seems to hold its value quite well.

Fishing Resort – Current copies on ebay: 9. While the cover looks generic this is a XSeed released game. As mentioned before XSeed normally brings over solid stuff. This one has been rising in value.

F1 2009 – Current copies on ebay: 15. When I picked this up a couple months ago, only a couple copies were on ebay. Looks like more have turned up. Still one that holds its value and is hard to come by.

Free Funning – Current copies on ebay: 6. Not quite Mirrors Edge. Fairly hard to find.

Fragile Dreams – Current copies on ebay: 12. Another Xseed. Quality title that holds its value.

Last Story – Current copies on ebay: 20+. This was fairly rare until Gamestop reprinted. Still hard to find for cheap.

Mini Golf Resort – Current copies on ebay: 7. Looks super generic, I have no idea why this has a high value. Low production/sales is my guess.

One Piece: UA – Current copies on ebay: 20+. Another one that Gamestop killed the rarity on with a reprint.

Opoona – Current copies on ebay: 7. Looks fun, hard to come by.

Oregon Trail – Current copies on ebay: 7. Who doesn’t love Oregon Trail, not sure if this can compare to the Apple II version. Oddly it’s one of the more pricey titles for the system.

Pandoras Tower – Current copies on ebay: 20+. Xseed. Not rare, but is likely to hold its value.

Shiren The Wanderer – Current copies on ebay: 12. Same as above, holds its value well.

Smiley World – Current copies on ebay: 2. I’m shaking my fist at you “Zoo”. They always have the most generic looking games. This was is fairly rare.

SNK Arcade Classic – Current copies on ebay: 5. Who doesn’t love arcade classics? Can be hard to find.

Victorious Boxers Rev – Current copies on ebay: 7. Xseed again.

Xenoblade Chronicles – Current copies on ebay: 20+. Another no longer rare title thanks to Gamestop. Still a good one to add to any Wii collection.

Muramasa – Current copies on ebay: 20+. Not rare, but really a beautiful 2D game.

Munchables – Current copies on ebay: 16. I heard this one was fun, seems to hold its value.

Fritz Chess – Current copies on ebay: 2. Super hard to find.

My Horse & Me: Riding for the Gold – Current copies on ebay: 3. Another crazy rare. Atari doesn’t even acknowledge that this game exists.

Little Kings Story – Current copies on ebay: 13. Xseed + Fun = happy face.

Rune Factory Frontier – Current copies on ebay: 20+. Seems to hold its value well.

Walk It Out – Current copies on ebay: 15. This one use to be very hard to find, but it looks like it had a second run.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn – Current copies on ebay: 20+. Anything with the Fire Emblem name has gone way up in value. One of the higher priced games for the system.

Fishing Resort is an underrated gem. Hours can go by in that game due to its relaxing atmosphere, tons to do, and all the fish you can catch. I really really enjoyed it.

Very nice! I have 20 of those titles, and I agree that some of them were an absolute pain to track down.

Here are a few of the games in my collection:

Animal Kingdom Wildlife Adventure - It's Afrika (PS3) for the Wii!
Arc Rise Fantasia
Barbie & The Three Musketeers (A shockingly fun game from WayForward!)
Bermuda Triangle Saving the Coral
Big Buck Hunter (An barroom classic at home!)
City Builder
Data East Arcade Classics (Bad Dudes and Burgertime finally get the home ports they deserve!)
Dino Strike
Doctor Fizzwizzle's Animal Rescue
Dragonball Revenge of King Piccolo
Final Fantasy Fables Chocobo's Dungeon
Furu Furu Park (Taito fan service!)
GTI Club Supermini Festa!
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus
Gunslingers
Hyper Fighters
Jerry Rice & Nitus' Dog Football (FTW!)
Major Minor's Majestic March (NanaOn-Sha's Wii game!)
My Personal Golf Trainer
Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek (A shockingly good adventure game!)
Ocean Commander
Offshore Tycoon
Octomania
Penny Racers Party Turbo Q Speedway
Pirates PlundARRR (As close as the Wii got to Castle Crashers!)
Princess Isabella A Witch's Curse
Raving Rabbids Party Collection
Rock Blast
Rogue Trooper Quartz Zone Massacre
Speedzone
Top Shot Dinosaur Hunter (Jurassic: The Hunted by any other name is just as mediocre!)
Trackmania Build to Race
Veggy World (A very strange shmup...)

Some are valuable; some are not; but they reflect the depth and variety of the Wii's amazing library.

The funny thing is some obscure rare games are not high priced due to not known by many. Meh, I buy games rare and common to play and collect; not to invest in. For other obscure Wii and Gamecube games as well as undiscovered forms of game play (such as a PS1 Duel Flightstick for Wii Skycrawlers) check the link:

Wii and Gamecube Guide - Reviews and Mods

Munchables for example, plays so much better with a PS1 Arcade Stick with Autofire to enable a "Pacman Munch" mode. A collectors frenzy, a random sticker in each case. I only managed to find two different types, I think there were at least two more? Don't get me started of the eight different 360 Perfect Dark releases!
