I am in an old 50s style row of homes surrounded by trees and field on 2 of the sides, not much big business in the area either so it's handling the area like it's Pallet Town or something backwoods like.
The mushroom bug is Paras.

Rock, Fire and Fighting types seem the hardest to get around here. Poison, Bug and Grass types not called Zubat or Paras are pretty rare too. Psychic, Normal and Water types are a dime a dozen though.

It's a good thing I got my action in before the great server outage part 2 that happened at 3:00 Eastern Time.

I caught a Magmar (with CP 95 ) and a Fearow today. I also received my first 10km egg, and it better not be an Eevee!

This also happened -

Yes, it's me and the Snorlax from this morning again, he was recalled from the flagpole gym after 2 hours, so I went to another gym and took down a Slowbro and Flareon to claim this gym for Valor! But look where it says "Battles Won: 1". That means that the Snorlax successfully defended! (due to its high HP, I imagine. It's a tank!) 10 minutes after that, the servers went down and haven't returned yet. It appears to be a worldwide outage as of right now.

I also wouldn't believe the doom/gloom/pay u$ after level 30 stuff. I've lost more balls to higher CP Pokémon above level 15 than anything else, and that's to be expected. Low CP Pokémon are still guaranteed.

Yeah don't worry about the 10km being something stupid. I have hatched one 10 km and was at, 9.98 km before it went down for my second 10 km.

The most common thing around here, other than the usual Pidgy and Rattata sightings, are Weedle, Eevee and Venonat. Slightly less common are Ekans, Oddish (and it's evolutions), Poliwag, Paras, Bellsprout and Goldeen. I've actually seen a few Bulbasaurs, Squirtles, and Nidorans pop up periodically as well. But there's also a lot I've seen on the tracker that I haven't been able to find/track down for one reason or another: Snorlax, Magmar, Taurus, Jinx, Vileplume, Pikachu, Geodude...I think I saw a Diglet once. Pickachu popped up a couple of times. And of course there are a couple I have caught that I've yet to see again. So I think the good ones do show up, you just have to be lucky about it.

App seems to be up and working again. Looks like my 5k egg hatched while the app was in limbo. It's a 213CP Psyduck. Its only the second Psyduck I've seen in two weeks.

I am now down to one Incubator, so I'll have to wait for the 10k egg to hatch before I can work on another one. Might take a while, seeing as I don't have enough opportunity during the week to get out and walk.

^^ Your first couple sentences seem like what I've been getting to see between the overkill of the grass/ground types to the others, but your list of one offs or radar only website stuff I've not. Goldeen I have, saw it just once and snapped that up.

I couldn't get it to work at all today except once, for under 5min, and amazingly snapped up a Doduo, but then tried just for xp to get a lame pidgey and it died after saying I caught it with the closed ball on screen and never reopened again. Really wish they'd fix the variety and functionality of the game in the area.

Servers returned to me around 8:30. It totally blew the plans I had this afternoon AFTER I took over that gym (my Snorlax was eventually defeated around 9:00, but NOT before I grabbed the Defender Bonus)

A new version is out now, but before you get your hopes up on the myriad of fixes it might contain, it only has one: minor text changes, more specifically to a spelling error in the Badges section. So this week we're still stuck with the bad tracker and ball freezes. Hooray!

The game has now been officially launched in Japan. You thought the strain on the servers was bad tonight....

Oh boy. Well luckily when the servers did go back up, I was able to walk that extra .02 km and hatch my egg to reveal a 1250 cp snorlax. Hooray!

1250's way better than mine. In battle they are amazing. That high HP keeps them around for a while. Mine has Zen Headbutt (Psychic) and Hyper Beam (Normal), but I understand his signature move Body Slam is a little better, not that Hyper Beam isn't powerful enough.

I've got a 2km and 3 5km in progress right now. Once they're done, I'll start the 10km and 2 more 5kms. I also have enough evolutions along with them lined up to finish off the 12K I need to get to level 19.

Later this afternoon I hope to get a little time in.

For eggs, I highly recommend people a allot their temporary incubators to those. That way, you can pump out the smaller eggs with your standard incubator while having that one in the background. You get the most efficiency with this setup.

Today I was on campus at our local college meeting with some old compatriots and showing Roz off. We walked through the theater and I found my first jigglypuff in the wild... in the theater!

What level do you need to be to start getting stuff show up in the wild that is over around 150cp anyway? I've got one over 200 but it was that 5k egg pinsir I put a little extra on. Never have seen another egg either, did get that 2nd disposable 3 shot incubator as a gimme though.
