Oh, I know, that's why I posted it. So funny. I'm getting to the point where I'm psyching myself out.

I had my most interesting / frustrating / excellent / terrible run tonight.

Took a stupid hit on 1-1, so was up against it, but cleared the stage w/17K.

Bought the shotgun for 15K on 1-2; so was in rough shape - sorta. 2K, 3 health, on 1-2, but, started to pile up bombs from treasures.

Hit 1-3 and tore it up, scored 12K, no hits, saw the girl up top. Went to the exit, dropped my shotgun, shot up 3 ropes and quick grabbed the girl. Brought her in, heard the ghost and...panicked. Left the shotgun at the exit - literally sitting on the exit. So frustrating.

Coasted through 1-4 and 2-1. Bought the shotgun on 2-2 again. Cleared stage and hit 2-3...which was of course dark today. So paid 15K for the shotgun again...and used it for 3 seconds before having to decide between torch and gun. Chose torch.

Was doing ok - then my torch got wet? Dunno, had it, then I didn't - i'm guessing that's what it was. So now, 2-3 is dark, all I see is piranhas in the bottom of the lake - I CAN'T find the exit, I have no torch - I haven't done enought water levels - i'm wondering, can the exit be in the water w/the piranhas? I figure if it isn't, once I go in, i'm not getting back out, so may as well bomb where I am - I bomb the center platform and boom - land on the exit, in the dark. By far my most "holy crap that was awesome" in this game so far.

So, on 2-4, I see the exit and a 3-bar block of gold, but also a blue fish, go for the block of gold and get hit so stupidly by a fish/frog, whatever those are. So exhilirating, so frustrating, ugh.

Made the mistake of swapping to the Anubis staff over the shotgun...killed myself on the exit. Dark, river, restless dead, is a combo I have never seen before. That was nuts.

Nice job dude - that's a great score. I feel like i'm improving daily...but so are y'all, so it's not really noticeable.

Like anything, it just takes time. Apparently the current record people are going for is beating it blindfolded. I dont know how that would ever be possible.

Well, we've seen that w/things like Super Mario Bros...but that is all programmed the same. These stages are random - I don't know how you could do it, short of someone telling you what is coming up.

Without a guide, it would not be possible. There are not enough audio cues. Then again, people didnt think a solo eggplant run was possible either.

one of the last sections of the Spelunky book was about the solo eggplant run, and all the crazy variables and stars that needed to align. It was mind-blowing. Personally I just want to see the eggplant. Haha. Since I beat the game I've just been playing to see as much stuff that I haven't seen. I'm sacrificing everything to Kali and stealing shotguns every chance I get now.
