Honestly I think it's just the sense of something different and exotic. Sometimes one gets a little too used to what people look like where they live so someone that looks different stands out and seems more interesting.

I tend to be a calm driver when in traffic, and as long as I have heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer I don't care.

Actually I think it's that mixing of genes that creates beauty. I always found the more mixed populations prettier.
