Could someone please share some tips on this "milking the bosses" strategy? I tried hanging around on the first boss to get more blue bonus things but eventually he just walked away, as if to say he was getting bored of me.

Had another round this weekend but did abysmally. Wouldn't mind upping my score at least one more time.

There isn't a ton of milking to the first boss, or even the second for that matter. The 3rd boss has a ton of bullets to cancel, the trick is while your falling and after the descent, do your best to not shoot him at all - just cancel bullets.

Your break shot with most (all?) characters will cancel bullets your normal shot won't cancel, this produces additional gems as well.

You usually have to destroy part of a boss first to make milking it worthwhile. First boss, destroy his upper half. He'll then fire missiles off more frequently that you can just shoot for a bonus item on every 2nd-3rd missile. There's actually decent milking potential here in upping the bonus collection early. On the second boss, destroy his tail and arms. He transforms, and you can then shoot the bombs he drops while dodging the lasers. Not a lot of bonus items here, but every bit helps. Third boss (1st part), destroy its tail that shoots the 3-way lasers. Then shoot the big red bullets it constantly fires off... And I'm still learning the 4th boss...


And so...Seems the Windina is still the easiest to score big with. But I'd thought to at least be on stage 5 by now...
