mrDude wrote:Second, I'm not sure if you take suggestions but maybe a racing game in the future? I loved Test Drive Lemans but maybe you could even do something more arcadey like San Francisco Rush 2049 or Re Volt if simulation is not your thing. Also 4x4 Evolution was great fun with its floaty physics and I think it might even still be playable online.

I probably should do a racing game soon, though looking at my collection I only have Sega GT at the moment.

However, I guess I should let the cat out of the bag here... I'm thinking this thread (and my blog) is going to expand more into "noiseredux vs. Sega," as I've taken to not just collecting DC, but Sega CD and Saturn stuff as well.

On that note, I have a few Saturn racing games on their way to me now.

I'd caution against a noise v. sega. That might get too big and random and lose some focus, not show up in thread title searches, etc.

Just start noise v Sega CD, noise v Sega Syphillis, noise v Sega Saturn, etc and etc.

Someone's a bit light on racing games. I recommend

F355 Challenge
Daytona USA
Test Drive 6
Flag to Flag
Sega Rally 2

Or heck review Sega GT. I've always wanted that one, but I've seen mixed reviews on it. How is it?

I borrowed Sega GT from someone when I was in high school and got pretty into it. There's a lot of car customization and different ranks of cars to work through, unlock and collect, so it's a lot like Gran Turismo in that way.
It was pushed as Sega's answer to the Gran Turismo series, though, which it really did not live up to. It's a nice little racing sim, but it's not quite as polished or accurate as Gran Turismo. I really liked it, and I'd probably recommend it, but I haven't played it in years.

Gotta admit, I'm surprised you've only written up one review for a horror game, noise! The Dreamcast has a decent sized bounty of them, I think you ought to delve more into what it has to offer.

As far as racing games go, the DC port of Vanishing Point is pretty good, IMO. Also might wanna try Metropolis Street Racer, and the Tokyo Xtreme Racers as well.

good point. And I'm planning on doing more horror posts this month (I just got Blue Stinger and the DC port of HOTD2). That said, I just posted a review of Bram Stoker's Dracula for the Sega CD.

had both growing up, and I've said on here that I adore the SMS. I really wish there was an SMS adapter that fit the X'Eye. Maybe there's a 3rd party one I don't know about?

eh, I just go where the current takes me. I spent this morning playing Soul Calibur on DC and Mortal Kombat on SCD and enjoyed both immensely. Sega CD makes me feel about 14 again.
