That may be the most beautifully composed run-on sentence I've ever read.cookie monster wrote:I am engaged 5 yrs today and can honestly say that i don't need a piece of paper or to go before god to profess my love for him he fell in love with me when i had nothing and now i have everything i could ever want unconditional love, security and understanding for us its not his stuff or mine its ours its the same with money our rings are a commitment for us if you don't want to marry fine if you do thats great to

Re: what's your marital status?
I just knew this thread with degenerate into an arguement with Izzy..
Anyway, I'm married and will have been for 10 years this summer. Best thing I ever did.

Well this was a pleasant clusterfuck to wake up to. This was once a pretty straightforward thread with a straightforward question and straightforward replies.
Ok, everyone, you can knock off feeding the troll from here out or the thread will be locked. Izzy, your "cold hard stubborn truth" -- the kind that isn't a truth at all and constantly floods moderator inboxes with complaints -- may have made its last stand in this thread...

First off, I am the last person to be a troll. Trolling is when you post with the intent to upset others. I post with the intent of educating and helping others; the exact opposite of trolling.dsheinem wrote:Well this was a pleasant clusterfuck to wake up to. Everything I said about marriage is true. I didn't say all marriage is bad either. It's only bad when it actually is bad. The problem is, most men jump into marriage without thinking about why they should do it, and if it is actually worth doing. They are fooled into thinking marriage is about love and it's some kind of magical sacred thing. I hate seeing bad things happen to good people, so I try to get them to think for themselves.
People like me are rare. There is so much brainwashing and spread of false information in this world, it is hard not to end up like most people. But just because I'm in the minority in most discussions, it doesn't automatically make me wrong. Popular vote and actual truth are not always the same.
Instead of completely shutting me out and assuming everything I say is false, you should try to at least consider it. It's fine if you don't want to believe it right away. You shouldn't. If you consider that I could be right, and try to figure it for yourself, you can open yourself up to improvement.
For example, in this same thread, someone corrected me about which day the Sabbath is. I did some research online to make sure, and it turns out that I was wrong. I wasn't upset at being wrong, rather I was glad that someone helped me.
I love being wrong. Seriously, I do. Especially when I am talking about harmful stuff. If I really am wrong, please correct me. I will consider it, and if I'm wrong, I will happily switch sides. I am always seeking the truth, even if it means being completely wrong about something.
