Mine are currently atop our TV cabinet, on display. Eventually they'll be downstairs on display.

I'll have to snap a pic, they are pretty damn cool looking. We usually use the top of the TV to cabinet to decorate for the seasons - we skipped valentine's decorations this year and left they skylanders up 8)

I'm tempted to let the kids play/play w/them - but not sure how fragile they are. None have broken yet, but i'm still a bit too protective at this point.

The paint will crack at joints that are bent. For example, Hex's and Stealth Elf's elbows. Also Drobot's wings. You can't notice when they are displayed, only when you bend them.

I came across an interesting article about the developer prototyping the portal of power that you might enjoy reading.
There was a period there where we said “But how are we going to connect it? Will we need to mount a Wii-mote in it?” And right around that time, on MAKE or Instructables, I can’t remember where – we saw it on Gizmodo, somebody published a hack about how to use a Wii Nunchuck to control an R/C helicopter and we thought: Whoa, that’s really pretty cool. And we looked and sure enough they weren’t just wiring to the potentiometers in the controller, they were using the output signals and there was a bunch of software published that showed that you could get the signal data from the Nunchuck controller. And I thought that was neat that they’d done that, but I also thought, if I can pretend to be a Wii Nunchuck controller I can talk to the Wii and we can go the other way.

Robert: And it can be any part of the store; it could be the toy section, it could be the kitchen section, it could be the plumbing supply section… In the plumbing section we found a pipe that was the right diameter and flared at the bottom. It was for a toilet! But it enabled us to put a light in the bottom, a sheet of translucent plastic on top and a ring of LEDs around it to create the effect we wanted.
I-Wei: And on the bottom where the main LEDs are we used a kitchen sink drain because it had a nice reflective surface, it was already a bowl shape, so the light on the bottom would be like a flashlight, shining all the light upwards.
Has the Skylanders craze died down a bit by now? I haven't bought any since January. My daughter has not played the game for awhile but is still interested in new figures.

I was just at Target an hour ago looking for some more...still sold out.

They sell out as soon as they come in where I live. Doesn't seem to be dying down.

Toys R Us just had major shipments nationwide this week. New and old figures. They are also selling their new exclusive (for 30 days) adventure pack on Sunday. Go there on Sunday at opening.

There has also been an increase in shipments here in Canada. Three stores in my neighborhood were stocked.

damn, missed it all. There is a toysrus alittle further than I would like to go from work that I am going to go to on lunch. Once I get legendary three pack I can quit hounding stores and can just wait. I just have this nasty feeling that once Toysrus stops carrying it they disappear forever.

It looks like the drought is temporarily over. Stores are getting regular shipments.

Dragon's Peak is very fun. Empire of Ice, I'd have to try again since it didn't thrill me the first time through.

I recently played alone and the game is just not the same. All three of my prior play-throughs were with my daughter or friend. I thought I would try the game solo with new, level 1 characters to test the difficulty. I got to level 7 or 8 with the first battle with Kaos (water source) and it was still very easy.

My Hex had her arm physically broken off. I filed a warranty claim with Activision and it went well. Go to their website, select a figure and provide your shipping address. You don't even need to return the broken figure! I just received the replacement today. It was shipped UPS express from the USA to Canada and arrived within two days of shipment. I don't even want to know how much it cost them to do this. The package contained the new figure plus a new web code.

Now to get all her upgrades again. She had all but one upgrade before.

Also, for those that don't keep on top of things, the final wave of figures is hitting stores now. The last few (Camo, Wham Shell, Warnado) are showing up at Walmart and Gamestop. Keep an eye out. This means that all 32 standard figures, plus the 5 alternates are now available. Dark Spyro is the only one still only available in a starter pack, but his individual figure package has already been spotted in other countries. I'm not sure why he isn't in North America yet.
