I always find parking, but sometimes it takes a bit. It's better earlier in the day, of course, when most people have left for work.

After the few hours it takes for him to find parking, the rest of us should be up. :P

Tips on parking -- don't.

Either find parking outside of Manhattan (outer boroughs such as Queens, or out of state such as NJ) and spending an extra 30 minutes to commute via public transportation is always suggested.

It's a trade-off between convenience and tolls/parking rates/lack of spots.

Pfft, public transportation is for the weak.

The trade off is closer to an hour and sometimes up to an hour and a half depending where you're coming from. You might have just as much trouble finding adequate parking in the outer boroughs - especially close to a subway.

Last time I made it into NYC and found parking on a Saturday morning in the East village in under an hour and a half coming from eastern LI.

Driving in the city is not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. Unless there is a parade or something, most of the time it's not too bad.

Just.. whatever you do. Don't take PATH from NJ. Ugh. I'd not take my chances leaving my car in Hoboken, Jersey City, or Newark.

I will be riding a handful of buses on Friday, and then Nemoide and I will travel together by train into the city on Saturday to spend the day with everybody.

Op, is there a range of time in which you'd like people to arrive? We won't be there super-early, but if you're not wanting people before a certain hour or something -- or past a certain hour, if the plan is to be out-and-about during the day -- I'd want to plan for that.

Do we all have DSs? I'll be bringing mine, so if anybody brings multiplayer titles like Mario Kart DS, I'll be ready.

No DS here. I think last time fvgazi and I met in East Village around noon. Is there something on the list (game stores in Manhattan, Barcade, game store by my house/gaming at my house) that someone doesn't like? If so, we can meet in Manhattan at noon (I'll be leaving around 11:15 and probably getting there 5-10 minutes early), Barcade doesn't open until 2pm, and trust me, it's best if we get there on the earlier side. We'll probably also want to grab lunch, but there are a great many good places to eat in the East Village - fvgazi can attest to the good shawarma. Two hours at Barcade is probably enough, else you'll lose lots of quarters. Then it's home, game store by my house if people want (small and small selection, but decent prices on what they do have). It won't be as much gaming as some of the other meetups, but with two TVs (sorry, one is really small, though) we should all be able to have lots of fun, I hope.

What say ye?

PS - I have a brand new retro-styled Risk board for those who want to stay until the wee hours of the morning. Although I haven't done this since early college days, I'm down if others are.
