So this got patched already, not too sure about what differences it made as it appeared to be pretty seamless even before the patch to me, although I only played it for a day or so before the 1.01 patch. Looked at some threads around and there are mixed opinions with it, some say frame rate issues are fixed, some say otherwise.

I completed ZoE 1 today. Visually it was excellent, played smooth too as far as I could tell. I had a blast. I watched some videos of the PS2 gameplay on youtube and I didn't really notice anything different or faster. In unusually high activity parts though, namely the non-FMV explosion and smoke effect sequences, there was definitely some frame drops going on. Didn't really inhibit my enjoyment factor, but there were clearly some optimization issues going on.

It's not, the entire set is on one disk.

The 360 version has it on a separate disc. It's because they've already crammed two PS2 games onto one DVD; they couldn't fit the Rising demo on there too.

A patch for the PS3 version is incoming that "completely re-programs" the game and supposedly gets it up to speed with the original. As usual no patch for 360.

The article also says the future of ZoE is on hold yet again and the team working on the new stuff has been dismantled (Konami probably needs more staff designing Metal Gear re-releases and ports).
