Yep, it sure it. Taking a massive risk (50% chance of losing half of everything you own) with no benefit is foolish to begin with.

Your statistical argument is flawed. Say you're right and 50% of marriages end in divorce. That does not mean that each marriage has a 50% chance of ending in divorce.

But anyway, in my argument a guy gets married and does not throw his money away (get divorced).

Oh, I'm sorry. My math was wrong. Each marriage does not have a 50% chance of ending in divorce. What I should have said was that 50% of marriages have a 0% chance of ending in divorce and the other 50% of marriages have a 100% chance of ending in divorce.
