For what is worth, I believe Inazuma believes what he writes and that he is trying to help.

I don't agree with all his opinions though. And some of his stuff I really do not see how it is going to be helpful (but that is what I see, not what he sees).
Sometimes, just having good intentions is just not enough.

I will also say that I have a harder time reconciling other posters attacks on Inazuma as good intentions* over reconciling some of the harshest Inazuma's put downs** as good intentions. Inazuma is at least consistent, so I can believe him when he claims he genuinely wants to help (although some effort in learning better methods of helping may be more productive!).

* some particularly egregious examples in this thread which motivated me to post this.
** which he should really consider toning down as it just doesn't work as help anyway.

I'm sorry, but I really don't see where you're coming from.

How can going into a thread where people are discussing a holiday they've chosen to celebrate, and calling their beliefs "bullshit" for no good reason, be seen as trying to be helpful?

Yep. It looks like that. Yet again, Sony's complete and utter lack of security is to blame. Did you know that the PS3 stores your credit card details unencrypted? Did you also know that it used to transmit them unencrypted as well? Kinda scary isn't it?

We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network. In response to this intrusion, we have:
Temporarily turned off PlayStation Network and Qriocity services;
Engaged an outside, recognized security firm to conduct a full and complete investigation into what happened; and
Quickly taken steps to enhance security and strengthen our network infrastructure by re-building our system to provide you with greater protection of your personal information.

Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.
For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of email, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information. Plaintext passwords? Really Sony? REALLY?? You have GOT to be fucking kidding me. The PS3s security is an absolute fucking joke. I think I've developed SQL/PHP applications in my spare time that have better security than Sony has with the PS3. :shock:

Well gee Sony. Thanks. Nothing I like doing more than having to contact my bank to update information / cancel cards. That's the FUNNEST!

Like I said...they aren't evil. Just incompetent. I think I would have preferred for Sony to be evil. It'd be less inconvenient.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
