Is Gamestop Evil? The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Gamestop is evil if you work for them though. They "lost" my paperwork three times in the two years I worked for them back in Highschool - good old Software ETC...

According to corporate I literally don't work for the company at all. In the just about to hit two years I've worked there none of my paperwork's been filed, it took me until last month to get on direct deposit LITERALLY instead of their paycard bull shit as "GameStop feels paychecks via the mail aren't safe in case some sort of emergency happens." and I've had my schedule and weekly work hours thrown around and scrambled relentlessly by the multiple idiots that have been managing my store.

Not to mention if GameStop is somehow listening to this conversation right now they'll fire me. It's now against company policy to mention or tell anyone you work for GameStop or you'll get fired. Yup, gotta love having my rights being trampled all over!

Yeah, but you can say the same about any company. It's almost a guarantee that no matter what company it is, you will find some employee or ex-employee that will speak of the cancer that said company is on the world. I don't think that's the company so much as the idiots that are hired to run the stores.

They once told us that our store footprint was too large and we are going to have the back wall pulled forward so we would have less floor space. They said the openness showed a lack of inventory...

The cramped quarters are on purpose. GameStop replaced all of the games/retro and DVD's they had on the gondolas (those racks on wheels) with lots and lots of advertising and are paid per case/poster so the more they cram in there the more they make.

It's annoying as hell and just pisses me off how much available space they waste to shove all that marketing in people's faces.

I was in Gamestop Planet X today. Big UPS delivery of used PS2 games in original memory card holder cases with original covers and manuals. Sales associate was busy tossing disc cases and putting all the used PS2 games in yellow envelopes to be displayed in an even more buyer unfriendly cardboard tray.

History being tossed in the garbage, Gamestop killed the Retro!

To Clueless Corporate of Gamestop listen to your employess! Oversized shelf robbing ads below causing Retros to be regulated to cardboard tray resulting in Retro Collecter's Manuals, Cases and Covers being tossed! This ad is incorrect, game is only for XBox.

Talk about waste of shelf space. The ads that killed the Retro Rack and loss of customers.
