If thats where you coming from then I can understand.

Am I the only one who was never really excited about motion controls? I never imagined them being terribly precise, and never had that much interest in the first place.

The number of games using motion control is very very low
not even Mario Kart or Brawl use the controls, most games can be done without the motion control or let me say they felt like they had to include the motion because its the Wii otherwise it does not really add new dimension to gaming

I can understand it in rail shooters, WarioWare (probably best game to utilize it) , and Red Steel for example.

But on Mario Galaxy, FPS, and much more they seemed like they were forced to add it in there.

I wish they hadn't bothered. Hands down the worst thing about Mario Galaxy is the waggle for attack. So many times I have died because the waggle didn't register correctly. I end up waggle the remote like crazy when I want to do attacks. What a pain in the ass.

Did you seriously say that Mario Kart doesn't use the motion controls? I take it you've never played Mario Kart on the Wii.

Mario Kart Wii is played with the Gamecube controller. Oh, you could use the wheel with motion controls but that sucks shit. I wouldn't count it as a motion control game either.

Except that it was marketed as a game that uses motion controls.....
And they are not shit controls in Mario Kart Wii, they are just have a steeper learning curve. Granted I don't use the wiimote alone but rather the wiimote and nunchuck. Being able to just flick my wrist to trick makes the game so much smoother in experience for me.

I use the same control scheme. Just because you feel using the Wiimote as a wheel is not suited for you does not mean the game doesn't have motion controls, or uses them poorly.

I disagree. Dozens of shovel-ware authors with waggle syndrome isn't the Wii's fault.

Have a look at the shovelware crap coming out on PS2 at the moment. Nobody can argue that the PS2 is a failure, however.

Hey you don't have to argue with me I was just trying to compromise with the author of this thread. I personal love the wii and even some shovelware games. The wii is not a failure to me at all. I personally think the PS2 sucks but just has good exclusives , which is the only reason I own one, rpgs mostly. If they are on other systems i get them for the other system.

I use the steering wheel. I think it makes the game really.

The Gamecube controller is better because it is more precise than the wiimote. Aren't all of the world records obtained with the Gamecube controller?

By the way, Mario Kart Double Dash on the Gamecube is the best Mario Kart. The Wii version is too dumb downed.
