Solder points for those right hand pads are too fine for my skills:ElkinFencer10 wrote:That does sound like something I'd be interested in, actually, but I'm a skilless rube with zero knowledge of how to mod consoles or use a soldering iron.KalessinDB wrote:Tim Worthington has the GGTV mod if you're into modding systems (and since you can pick up a cheap GG for like twenty bucks or less...)ElkinFencer10 wrote:Yeah, the Game Gear screen is my biggest issue. There's a guy out there who came up with an lcd screen mod for the game gear and it actually displays the full screen (unlike older mods that shrunk it), on top of having a vga connection.
I need to get someone to do the mod for me.
Here's a demo video:

He did a similar thing for the Lynx as well. You can find more info if you google McWill Game Gear.

I keep hearing about some phone app that is supposedly the golden egg of gaming help. Some kind of guide app or something? I keep hearing about it, and I'd think it'd be nice for when I get stuck on a game, so I'm not digging through internet sites full of adds. I might be wrong though.
Anybody know what it is? I feel like it's been mentioned here but I'm not sure.

A phone app would be great. I usually keep GameFAQs pulled up on my phone's Chrome browser, but it's not the most mobile-friendly thing.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I keep hearing about some phone app that is supposedly the golden egg of gaming help. I really like FAQr. Essentially it's just a pass through for GameFAQs, but it's got a really nice interface, a good search feature, and you can set bookmarks within FAQs. Additionally it "remembers" all the FAQs you have used within the app, and you can still access your "saved" FAQs offline.ElkinFencer10 wrote:A phone app would be great. Beyond that, a good PDF reader can also be beneficial for any more traditional guides available in PDF format.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Now that you guys mention it, it's true that it seems to mostly exist as a Power Flash cartridge. Ack apparently knows of a physical release but if it exists, it must be really expensive.BoneSnapDeez wrote:This was actually released as a cartridge???Erik_Twice wrote: Wizardry I-II-III. So yeah, repro or bust on that one. A shame because it's the best version of the first game.
Still, I think getting the Super Famicom itself is not necessary, an American SNES or a PAL SNES with a 50Hz/60Hz switch would work as well.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!
