Smile: saw a picture of Billy Corgan that looks just like Hobie.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Says someone who has never lived in a large city...

More like says someone who frequently complains about how there's very few employment opportunities and how limited his social circle is.

Are you actually certain you like small towns, Forlorn? :P

My friends grew up in Anson and they couldn't wait to leave.

Wtf, I was born in Anson and lived there for seven years. My grandma actually still lives a few miles outside of town. Small world.

Ticked: I hate my job. I currently work at a certain well known auto parts store and its not the work that I dislike, but the people I work with. I have never met people that gossip more than these people. Its seriously like working with a large group of teenage girls, even though most of them are men and much older than me.

Smile: After working various retail jobs for the past 6 years I will finally be able to quit as my wife has finally finished college, taken her certification exams, and will be teaching her very own 4th grade class this fall. :D

Yes this means I will finally attend college myself this fall. Very excited and nervous, but I think I'm ready for it. Still not sure what I want to do with my life though.

Went to a few stores, spent some time at the Lego store and Marbles Brain Store, then an hour in the Namco Arcade and met up w/my wife's mother at Rainforest Cafe.

Did you guys make it out of here before the storm hit? Half of Minneapolis is without power and there are trees down all over the place. My dad's house has power so guess where I am? Actually my dad's block is the first block that i saw that still had power.

Where was I during the storm? Riding my bike back from the suburbs with my little brother. 70 mph winds and flash flooding, it wasn't really that bad and was actually a fun ride except for the fact that the rain hurt like hell at the height of the gusts.

I just checked the radar and it looks we are about to get five times what we got the first time in a straight line

What was your wife's reaction? (You did tell her, didn't you???)

Also...did you have the baby with you at the time? If so, that was a bold woman...

We got hit good in Esko last night - but today, honestly, had no idea anything was going on - we were pretty obvlivous - but the Nickelodeon area was getting good sunlight, sure looked nice outside. I'm sure MoA has generators for if they lose power. We left just after 7p and had cloudy, but relatively good weather getting home.

Heh, I live in Abilene. If you were in Anson for seven years I guarantee you went back and forth to Abilene pretty often.

I hung out in Anson a bunch since again, my friends lived there. Such a tiny, tiny place. We'd walk to the other side of town and it'd take us maybe 30 minutes.

The storm hit a little after 8 I think but I was at least 10 miles out west. Glad you didn't get stuck driving in it.

Was that the kids first time there? I loved it when I was a kid until I was on the roller coaster and the safety bar didn't engage so I was holding on for dear life.

:? My phone got soaked and is sitting in a bag of rice with my fingers crossed. Well my fingers aren't in the bag obviously.

:D The watch I got from sevin must be water resistant since it still works! Only one way to have found out.

hey! Im from a small town!

I missed a huge part of this discussion. (I hate working) Census..ly speaking, I'm from Rio Hondo Texas. But geographically speaking, I'm from a teeny town (I guess a village?) called La Tina. The guv'ment name is Arroyo Gardens-La Tina Ranch, but its actually just called La Tina. I was 30 minutes away from the nearest city (San Benito) which at the time had a population of something like 15000. Now its apparently about 24k as of 2010.

I couldn't wait to get into the city. Being out there limited me quite a bit in several ways. Until I got my own car, friends always tried to get out of picking me up, which was understandable. But they would refuse to pick me up to go to South Padre Island - WHICH YOU HAD TO PASS MY HOUSE TO GET TO.

I live in a smaller city now, Cedar Park. But we have a walmart, a theater, several restaurants, an HEB (a Texas grocery store) and pretty much everything you need. I rarely need to drive into Austin-proper for any reason.
