That's a significant factor, and I wrote about adults VS energy in this article:

There are ways to increase your energy levels as an adult. This stuff works, I do it myself and can feel the benefits. I have a mentally demanding job as well. I mean I do industrial automation for Pete's sake. Doesn't stop me from playing SRPGs until 1AM though.

Yeah sleep deprivation sounds like the worst suggestion ever. I happen to like sleep.

I can feel the energy-level argument, for sure. My job takes significant mental bandwidth, and there are times I just don't feel like playing anything. Instead, I'll randomly browse the Internet or watch something on Netflix. Well, the latter only came into play because Person of Interest's fourth season showed up on Netflix. :D

As far as sleep deprivation goes, some folks handle it better than others. I'm sure genetics factors in quite a bit.

I've read your entire blog motherfucker.

I guess I just don't understand the point of this ongoing "discussion." Some of us play video games quite a bit, some don't. Some find it more "important" than others. Some of us have a bunch of other hobbies. Does it matter? No one is right or wrong here.

Aww man, don't be like that, irrelevant debates are the core of forum discussions.

If a game is really good, you won't notice if it's on a 19 inch screen up close or a 50 inch screen from a distance once you get sucked into it.

Ah, but a 19" screen at a distance may prevent that sucking in. Best to go with a 50" up close to be safe.

Now I'm thinking of good ol' Captain N. Yeah, a larger TV would be preferable. ;)
