Haha, was that guy serious about freezing them?
As a whole, not a whole lot of info that I didn't already know. But, I always forget about traps! Usually, when a trap is made for a specific type of bug, it includes a scent or pheromone of some sorts to attract them. And they really do work well.
Just a couple years ago, I had a huge problem with those dumb June Beetles. They were a TON of them, and they're so stupid and just fly into everything. I'd go outside in the summer and they'd just fly into you the entire time. Into your head and face, no good. At least it was only outside, they don't care to come inside. Got a trap for them, and by the end of the summer I had a bag full of them. Must have been hundreds.
So that is a good idea. I could get a trap for this stupid stink bugs and hang it off my air conditioner (the most likely point of entry for them). But, they seem to be in my room less and less often and the air conditioner is coming out soon anyway. No point on a trap this year, but I'll have to remember that in case they appear in the same number next year.
But I've noticed something the past 10 years. Every summer (some times two in a row) there will be an abundance of one bug around for whatever reason. I can remember some where between 5 and 10 years ago, there was a summer with a crazy amount of lightening bugs. The night was just blinking with them, I've never seen so many. It was actually really nice. A couple years ago, there were way too many June Beetles around. Now this year, it's the stink bugs.
Stink bugs... Now I remember my sister talking about them. Do they actually stink when you squash them? I think I remember my sister saying not to squash them because they smell real bad. I've exploded a few of them and haven't noticed a smell.
