I have no idea how much compression, but Color Caves is an album on a NES cart:

Those are chiptunes though. Different sort of thing.

Ritz and Capri-Sun communion? You bet your ass.

Fair enough, its still pretty cool. We could probably do the math on it. At 8kbps you run about a second per kb. So, in rough ballparking, you could probably get about a 20 second clip in there.

I can remember doing church for my cat when I was 6. It was a five-minute service, since that was about as long as either I or the cat could stay interested.

I hate that Oatmeal strip. History doesn't lend itself to a nice/evil divide.

That's enough time for a grindcore clip...

Also, what is "good" for first week album sales, outside of pop stars and other generally high selling styles? 5,000?

Depends on audience, goals, budget, etc etc etc.

Hmm. I was just wondering, a non-signed Country band I know of locally released a CD that sold about 2,500 the first week, and they were freaking out. They thought it was great. On the other hand, I know of a metal band who broke up because they couldn't get their first release to sell 5,000 in two weeks.

That's the difference. A local band that isn't on a label at all or on a small local indie label, that's huge sales. For some big record company that probably spent more on 4 hours of recording studio time than the local band did recording the album and getting 3000 CDs pressed, 5000 sales is not going to make them happy.
