I traded out a useless Super Scope 6 around a week ago and got Wolfenstein 3D w/the box, tray, papers, but no manual in return at the flea market. I've been slowly picking away at it. It gets such a bad wrap, partly deserved considering they dared to still call it Wolfenstein and neutered the nazis and even the dogs out. If you can put that out of your mind though and play it for what it is, the game is actually pretty damn good and I think it's a bit harder than the PC game too, at least on compared default difficulties. Also uniquely the game has all new stages, so it's no re-run, and it even has a somewhat handy in game map so you do less going in circles.

With a rom I have and its jut plain goofy. Not as terrible as I heard it was as it plays fine but its just weird and I think its harder than wolf3d as the animals are more aggressive.

In the 20 years of playing Star Fox, I never had any idea WTF was being said before "Prepare for launch." Someone today pointed out it's actually "Incoming enemy fighters." I had NO idea. I'm so happy.

Ok so I had no idea ANY of that was said. I'd make up my own words during that sequence.

REEF FLIGHT - AIR FORCE ONE!

Really? I had the SNES at the time running through a pair of nice copper wires into some old school good quality wood panel speakers through an old realistic sound system so it was deep, clear and good bass too. I always thought it was incredible with that opening. I know some had problems understanding other stuff though like some of the street fighter 2 phrases and super metroid. I miss having that setup, but the sound faking these days on small speakers sadly are a good enough match. I'm sure a true digital sound system would be a blowout though.

I'm almost done with Breath of Fire 2. Once I finish that, it's time to pick a new SNES RPG to play through! Woo! Looking forward to it.

Once Breath of Fire II is done, I'll have these in my possession to get through:

Drakkhen
Eye of the Beholder(I only played through a few floors back when TR did it)
Illusion of Gaia
Inindo
Robotrek
Secret of Evermore
Super Ninja Boy

There are a bunch of others that I still don't own, like Soul Blazer, Obitus, and Dragon View, but for now my options are still pretty good.

This should be next.

And I would play Soul Blazer before playing Illusion of Gaia.
