As for Wii games. I just had Arc Rise Fantasia arrive so I need to pick that up. I'm still looking for a decent priced Sakura Wars and Phantom Brave though.
Yeah, at least from my experiences, it's the same in North Carolina. The Gamestops I've been to here have guys who know what they're talking about and are as passionate about gaming as we. As you said, too, it pays to get to know them; they can be a lot of help tracking down a certain game or helping you get a limited pre-order. One of the guys at the Gamestop in Henderson called me when they started taking preorders for the Pip-boy Edition of Fallout 4 because he knew how badly I wanted one.

I, too, would be interested in this. Especially WiiWare.

I have to agree with nc I live in the area just south east of charlotte and matthews and they are awesome if you know when to hit. Though for me it's when the girls are there....the guys tend to lean on the casual and fps types which annoy me since they're no help...there's a few that do help decently but most of them blech. Though list of wii must haves, would be nice for gamestop runs now that most of the games are dirt cheap(except for the usual suspects...looking at you nintendo IPs and xenoblade)

Edit: Up for debate but there is this from kotaku: http://kotaku.com/5878845/the-12-best-games-on-the-wii

I really wish Zack & Wiki were named something else. Every time I hear it I think of Zack and Miri Make a Porno :P.

I think the same thing. It's such a good game though. The Wii played to some good to great adventure type games that I wish would come back on the Wii U. A sale on Wiiware games would be nice as well.

Here is a list of top Wii games the Racketboy commish put together about a year ago.
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... =2&t=48372

And here is the nomination/discussion thread. Not a lot of talk of Wiiware games unfortunately.

There was some WiiWare discussion here:
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... =2&t=48888

The thread didn't really take off though. I think that not many people really played much WiiWare so there just wasn't a lot to say? (There are also a relatively small number of really exciting games to talk about... I mean, there are probably a couple dozen games worth downloading, but compared to other platforms that's not a huge number.

I'd be excited to see more WiiWare discussion though. It had some real gems like Fluidity (aka: Hydoventure if you are in Europe), World of Goo, and the Lost Winds series.

It's as useful as the general nominations thread linked earlier, but there is also this discussion about best Wii games without motion controls:

In general, I think the Kotaku Top 10 lists aren't great... but I do think all the games they list are pretty awesome, so it's hard to get upset about what's "missing".

I do like how they got Trauma Team on there. Lots of people never bothered with that game, but it's really a gem and well worth tracking down.

One Wiiware game that constantly gets overlooked and unmentioned is kyotokei. As one of the few SHMUPS on the system it's a decent game and not very expensive. It's a horizontal shooter that plays somewhat like Ikaruga in that you can reverse polarities to absorb the bullets and become immune to enemies the same color as you. While it's not nearly as good as Ikaruga Kyotokei is worth grabbing if you like SHMUPS.
