Was doing the pawn shop today and say a crystal X-Box there. $29.99 with hook-ups and one crystal controller, which is normal at this place. Normally I wouldn't even think of it, especially since I already have a crystal X-Box, but I took a look at the bottom. Hmmm..... the seal is broken and the screw exposed. I wonder....
I paid the $30+tax for it and took it home. Plugged it, turned it on and...
... SWEET!!! EvoX! YES!
I'm not sure what's in it, but I'm assuming it's hard-modded since it looks like it's been opened. It's also got a 200GB HD installed with a few emulators (just Nintendo stuff and... a Colecovision one).
$30 is expensive for an X-Box (although it is crystal...), but with a mod-chip and 200GB hard drive? Totally sweet deal.
That's now a modded PS1, PS2 and X-Box I've picked up in the past few months.

Does anyone want a crystal X-Box? I have an extra.

Sometimes the best finds are quality and not quantity... bought 3 minty complete PS1 games today at one of the few sales I hit.
Final Fantasy VII Greatest Hits - all discs with very little scratching, manual intact
MediEvil
Rayman 2
All for
$8!

Still have a small PS1 collection so you have no idea how glad I am to pick these up for a cheap price. All of them look mint, little to no scratching and play great. I dont have my camera on me atm, will edit in a pic later.

I won this auction tonight for $8.50. I had read these still had value for keeping your pins clean (even after putting in a replacement). To get four (2 SNES, 2 NES w/ box) seems like a worthy gamble.

Is there a cart cleaning equivalent?

Isopropyl alcohol costs a dollar. Q-tips cost $3, maybe $5 if you're worried about cotton residue.

Yeah, but it would be nice to have a devoted cart-slot shaped piece of plastic.

Some of those cleaning kits had wands for the carts. Usually they were just a lump of foam on a a plastic stick. A glorified q-tip.
