I take a simple stance: if it's a FF game, and the number isn't 6 or 7, I ignore it. Don't know much about the pre-6 games other than that 4 isn't much fun (IMO) and 1 is primitive and boring. 8 and 9, just don't really care. Hardly know anything about them. 10 and onwards, hate the art style and characters.
I'm probably missing out on at least one good game here, but I really just don't have the time or attention span for a 40 hour playthrough anyhow, so whatever.

Ok, so I guess it's safe to say you aren't exactly the best source for reviews of the next Final Fantasy game.

Yeah, you can pretty much ignore anything I say about any FF game except 7.

I've beaten FF1-13 (sans 11 and 12).
I think I can have the right to say XIII is weak sauce.
FF4-9 are alfredo sauce. Chicken alfredo is basically one of my favorite meals in the world, so that means they are awesome.
FF10 is spaghetti sauce. It was decent.
FF1-3 are cheese sauce. Simple stuff, but I enjoyed it.
FF12 is uncooked, I need to finish it someday.
FF11 and FF14 are not on my menu.
